Thanks. I will for sure. And I apologize if it makes anyone upset... I will be glad if I am getting it sooner, but hopefully don't anger anyone. I honestly didn't do anything to try and get it sooner. Maybe a combination of location (Fullerton) and configuration (R1T, Adventure, offroad, Rivian Blue with Black Mountain, 21", crossbars, all weather)

Maybe they just had an extra on a truck headed our way?
There have been reports of a lot of trucks at the Costa Mesa center. Maybe your config just matched up well or someone else canceled their order and you happen to be right there?

Honestly, I am happy for everyone that gets their truck. It's not your fault if your number comes up early.

But, we're frustrated by a process that doesn't seem to make any sense. There are folks with adventure trims who ordered years ago who haven't been notified, so it's confusing.

But, again definitely feel legit stoked for those getting trucks!!

Super happy for the individuals, totally flummoxed by whatever lottery system Rivian has developed.

I don't remember the exact date but it was right after we went to the Santa Clarita first drive event. My wife did not want to put down a deposit until she had seen one in person. So December maybe?

Here's my new working theory to the guide assignment and delivery process:

I'm envisioning the NBA lottery. You get one digital ball per day for each day you've been waiting. When Rivian has a new truck ready for delivery at a service center they fire up the digital ball mixing cage full of the balls in the region and randomly pull whatever ball comes out. Could be someone that preordered yesterday. Could be someone old. But each day is another ball in the lottery for you.

I wonder if there is some status in the internal tracking software like:

- "at service center/guide assigned" (almost done)
- "build scheduled" (going on the line soon in Normal)
- "ordered/not yet scheduled" (basically nothing yet)

So when a cancellation comes through they skip right over "scheduled" and pull from the pool of "ordered" to avoid messing up the production schedule

Maybe... I think my configuration would be a common one... (Rivian Blue / Adventure / Mountain Black). And I am in an area where a lot will be delivered, so possibility of someone canceling probably better in my area.
