Ocean Coast is a non-negotiable for me – I will not switch to any other interior color option no matter how long the wait.

I wasn't going to get mine until Q4 anyways so hopefully his announcement isn't that OC is delayed to 2023 or something.
I feel the same way. I'm getting the Max pack so they should have this figured out by the time I'm near production which wont be until mid 2023 anyway.

Has anyone considered that Rivian is just batching the interior options instead of doing all of them at the same time? It seems obvious to me that this is what they've chosen to do in the short-term as they ramp up.

If this is what's happening, I wouldn't call this a "delay" on OC at all because it's not like they lack the parts from the suppliers – they are simply choosing not to produce OC until later.
Yes, I think it's been a constant question of whether or not they are just batching or actually having problems. Regardless of the reason, they get no such free pass in not calling this a "delay". You can't tell people with Ocean Coast that they're going to get a truck in March to April, not deliver one until May (or later), and still call it "on time, as promised". And if it ain't on time, it's a delay to the buyer.

If they knew they were going to batch, they should have said so clearly. BM in March and April, FE in May, and OC in June - or whatever their actual plan is. But for Pete's sake, communicate it with us...

I bet any delays are due to their OEM suppliers. On the assembly line, they don't care if they fit a black mountain, ocean coast or forest edge dash. They all (should) fit the same.

I'm not sure how many of you haven't been inside an R1 yet, I sat in one for the 1st time a week ago. BM was not near as dark as I had thought and I then switched to BM from OC. I am a little worried about a white interior as well. The main reason I switched was to avoid any delays. I only mention this to let anyone on the fence know that it is a very nice interior with lots of detail and accent color, if that helps. And also point out that it would really be nice if they got those test drive events going for those of us needing to make decisions.
To each there own, but I had the opposite experience. I was really wanting to like BM, as I have a dog and I'm certainly worried about OC getting dirty... But seeing them both in person (I got to drive one), I found BM too monotone, and felt OC looked much more luxurious. Sticking with OC... For now.

But people should certainly try and see them in person if at all possible.

I'm the same I really don't like how boring the BM interior is. Maybe if they made the wood a different tone and gave it some contrast.

All of the above.

The wood looked really fake compared to my BM or the FE pics I've seen. Forest Green next to Launch Green, I'm glad I got LG. FG is nice but generic. The combo might be good for Cali types, but not for me.

Any chance of some pics? AFAIK, this would the first time for OC in the wild.

Thanks for the feedback. Still trying to settle on an interior for Limestone. My current ranking: OC > BM > FE

I was told yesterday by my guide that there was no delay with OC, and the fact that my OC was picked for a guide contact was a good sign OC was going into production.

Signed a PBA for an R1T with OC Interior yesterday.

Just a lot of inconsistent data points.
The only difference in configuration between yours and mine is the date it was preordered. So if you’re getting OC, that makes me hopeful the a June-July delivery will happen.

We ordered at the same time!! Im a December 2018 preorder with April/May delivery After I saw this configuration at the First Mile Sonoma event I was sold the FE is beautiful in person and looks amazing with the launch green
In pics the Launch Green looks like it washes out in the sun, almost turning into a mossy green. True? I was LG forever but switched to El Cap because I haven’t had the opportunity to see in person.
