Are guide contacts going out to more people after the recent email? I was just contacted by a guide and I was originally in the Oct-Dec group. Recently switched from OC to BM with limestone exterior. But man…it’s so early!
Being in the Oct-Dec group seems to be the most beneficial group right now. They are pretty much ignoring the earlier groups for some reason.

25-30 miles probably? Do you know if they have anything like a showroom there where i could see different interior colors or swatches?
@momo3605 I visited there about a month ago. There are no fences and two parking lots. I just parked on the street and walked up a path that was between the two parking lots.

Someone quickly came out and asked me if I needed help. They told me their "insurance" would allow only customers to be on the property and that my preorder didn't qualify as being a customer. ?

Luckily, there is a public sidewalk and plenty of R1Ts in the larger parking lot for me to gawk at. I just hung out for a while and eventually the same person came out. I think they must have felt bad for sending me away and ended up chatting with me for a few minutes about the trucks, Rivian, etc.

In short, the SSF service center is very accessible, but don't expect to get a tour of the place and the trucks. However, I think it depends on the person and personality of the Rivian staff you encounter. You could very well be invited inside and/or invited to take a look at some of the interior.

It might also help that you have a guide assigned, but don't count on it. Rivian seems to be in a state of mild chaos during this ramp up.

This is great. I am heading to SF for a work trip in June. Having never really seen an R1T in person at all (aside from seeing one, briefly, driving down the street) - I think I'll uber down to the SSF location and just see what they have in the parking lot from a distance. That way I can see some colors in person.

It's surprisingly close to the San Francisco airport (SFO). I think it's like a 5-10 drive. Anyone who has a long stopover at SFO and hasn't seen a R1 in person, should hop on an Uber/Lyft and take a look.

So I spoke to my guide an hour ago. Was a great discussion. He told me to expect a timeline of 6-8 weeks. Currently have Limestone/FE 21s configured. We locked in using the new process. No PBA.

I still have not seen FE in person nor have I test driven one, but he said he will try to get me a demo drive asap as well as to try and find an opportunity to see FE at the SSF service center.

Thanks for this update and keep us posted. I'm also about 30 miles from SSF SC, so I expect to be dealing with them when my number gets called. I'm interested in your interactions with them.

Stoked to hear the process is moving along so quickly for you!

Sounds like we have a similar configuration and proximity to the SF service center.

I few weeks behind you from a preorder date perspective.

Friend in Santa Barbara with identical spec to mine got guide contact two days ago. He ordered in November of 21. Wild!

Keep us posted on your experience at the service center.

There is no larger battery(“max pack”) for R1S.
Supposedly there may be but it will probably be less than 180kW. We’ll have to see. If not, I may reluctantly switch to the truck.

Update: Messaged my Guide today if he had any unclaimed Launch Editions, and to my surprise, he found a Launch green with the 20" ATs for me! Super stocked to be getting a Launch Edition! I do really like limestone, but launch green was a close second for me.

I would have taken that offer in a split second. Good for you!

Curious are you paying launch edition price?

It's my understanding that anyone who is offered a launch edition does get Launch edition pricing. So that means instead of that car being 73K it will be 74800 or 74500 for the 20" AT added. Unless of course the original launch edition allowed for that free upgrade. Which would mean 73K flat.

if I was offered the 20" AT tires I'd still go for the 21's - I want that extra range.

Adventure trim is $74,500 with power tonneau. Same price as Launch Edition (except the 20s are a no cost option). My original Adventure trim build was with the 21s as I didn't want to pay $1800 for less range, but i'll take them for free! lol

Although...i guess i didn't factor in paint price. Does Launch Green cost the same as the mid-range paint options? I don't even have the option for Launch Green in the configurator, so i'm not sure.

I'm leaning towards 21s for the range too. Although the 20" AT Bright tires do have more of an Aero design to them than the regular 20" AT tires, so might consider going to those if it would get me the truck faster.

I wonder if over time, we’ll have more EV/range friendly 20” wheel options. Sounds like there are almost no tire choices for the 21s outside of the Pirelli Scorpion A/S that comes standard
