Man I get hopeful and then discouraged at the same time. My mind has been accepting of Oct to Dec but more and more people are getting theirs eariler.

Two people in the Colorado Rivian FB Group with the exact same build and options as mine R1T/Adventure/FG/BM/ 20" AT got guides today. One of them placed their reservation in January of this year.... We tried to speculate but with the same exact build as them, an older reservation, and I'm closer to the service center (within a few miles). I'm not quite sure why some of us are getting skipped over.

Maybe it's naïve but after seeing others getting theirs earlier based on more common options, I was hoping to get mine before some of the Overland Expo shows (end of Aug) and more importantly to me was hoping to get some camping in with the truck before winter.
It's very annoying - Colorado and California have really high numbers of pre-orders and in both states the newer orders are getting trucks and guides and the early preorders have had nothing but silence. It's almost like they sorted the spreadsheet the wrong way and they are working backwards.

It’s an algorithm that deprioritizes the patient ones. Hold off on the guaranteed sales and fulfill those who might buy something else instead.

Out of curiosity I'd want to know for sure but it's amusing to me it could just be as simple as once someone misses their first timing milestone, if I recall you only have so much time for each step, and once you miss something it just goes to the next reservation in the same area. Regardless of when that pre order was placed. From a pure numbers standpoint it makes sense, they're only making a certain number of vehicles this year and with logistics challenges it will take them the rest of the year to actually deliver them. Sucks for those who got in really early though.

Are guide contacts going out to more people after the recent email? I was just contacted by a guide and I was originally in the Oct-Dec group. Recently switched from OC to BM with limestone exterior. But man…it’s so early!

So just got off the phone with the guide. Sounds like their not allowed to move off the message
of your initial delivery window ( In our case here Oct-Dec). She just kept saying things are moving really fast. I too changed from OC to BM to see if it would speed up the process and it seems as though it has. Literally received the PBA as I hung up the phone. She said the 8 step process would appear under the R1T truck symbol in the left column on the web page, once everything was ready, so there must be a vehicle out there with my name on it I'm guessing. Also my SC for where I live in PA is going to be Brooklyn, Yikes! Will keep you all updated.

Also on a different topic my insurance quote for this truck was WOW, use USAA. Shocked me how much vs. the other cars in the family

I have a R1S with a Oct-Dec delivery window but am in no hurry because I want the largest battery and may even switch to the R1T if there is no larger pack for the R1S. I will be happy as long as I get one before the tax credits are used up. I figure with the way inflation is going and a locked in price, my vehicle becomes almost 1% cheaper each month that passes.
There is no larger battery(“max pack”) for R1S.

Ah gotcha, so i shouldn't get too excited for a quick upcoming delivery. I wonder why they would assign guides to us if the window remains Oct-Dec...instead of assigning to those in the earlier Jul-Sep window. I have my guide call at 2PM PST today, so I'll update what I hear as well

I have the same combo and group for R1S but haven't switched yet in the configurator for fear for delaying things. I doubt I'll get mine this year anyways since I'm in NY and pre-ordered 2/2021. I want to switch to FE with Limestone but don't have the stones to do it so I think I'll play it safe with BM if someone contacts me like the emails stated.

Are you saying "Use USAA" or don't use USAA? Your second sentence seems to say the opposite. Asking because my intention was to add the R1T to my current USAA policy.

Yea i actually would rather go FE, I want a colorful interior, but i feel like i have to see it in person before i go that route. I intend to ask my guide if there may be any options to see FE in the SF Bay Area

Forgot to add the "I". I use USAA for all our vehicles Insurance and was surprised at the price to insure the R1T

I too use USAA. Surprised by how expensive? For a car that will cost $90k to replace, was it unreasonable?

@momo3605 How close (driving miles) are you from the South San Fran service center?

25-30 miles probably? Do you know if they have anything like a showroom there where i could see different interior colors or swatches?
