9/21 Pre-order date. Limestone, black interior. I’ve been assigned a guide and started the 8 step process. I’m showing an assigned VIN but I need to sell my current truck. I have no idea how fast/slow I need to do that process. What’s everyone been averaging once you have a VIN assigned?
Wow. This is an Adventure I guess based on the date of order - you reserved a full 33 months after me and I have heard nothing. These guys are f&&ked up.

Well, I have preordered back on 1/7/22 and it's been a week since I spoke with my Guide...

It is an Adventure... not sure how the whole process works. I'll let you guys know when I hear more - hopefully today. I'm assuming with a VIN assigned it can't be too far out but who knows. Sorry to hear that you've been waiting so much longer. I'd be totally frustrated as well.

Can you do a trade in? In some states that could reduce your sales tax by a significant chunk.

Based on some quick Googling, it looks like Nevada does this.

But IANATPGTARIAJAFJWDEKWCTIW (I am not a tax person giving tax advice, rather I am a forum junkie who doesn't even know what color truck I want)
I appreciate the advice - I'm selling my truck to my younger brother (at a significant discount, despite how angry my wife is about that haha). I'd probably would have saved around 2-3k on the tax incentive alone with a trade in. But I'm in a position to help out family.

That's your fault, though. They did finally send out the email saying it would be fall, if you want OC wait. If you don't, commit. Sucks, sorry this happens to early holders. I wanted OC myself. At this point though you're standing in the grocery line you've been waiting in for 30 minutes and the other lines are moving and they even reached out and told you you can go through this other line but it'll take a while longer or you can move to the others but you continue to wait in this line because it's the only line you can buy a specific brand in. And you're getting sour about it. I don't think you realize how long it'd take to reach out to like 40k early holders and be like 'are you sure you want OC' and then they talk your head off because they aren't sure and email you back and forth for a week changing their minds.

Excuse me but...what?

Their second email regarding the OC delay literally clarifies as follows:

Monday’s email mentions that you’ll be reaching out to see if I’m “flexible” on my configuration.

Rivian specifically stated they would be reaching out to those that have OC configured to see if they want to change.

It is not 40K people but even if it was - it takes 1 second to click send on an email with - Do you want to change away from OC - click YES or NO. My kid could write it.

Then it would be a matter of starting at holder #1 and working down the list to see who A: doesn't have a truck yet and B: who has changed out OC on their configuration - that's how a functioning list works (or grocery line), you start at the top and go down - it's not like they haven't got the time, they're not very busy making cars after all.

Instead they are 'reaching out' to people who reserved 3 years later than some and giving them trucks. Is that not considerably more work (and a f&&k you) than an email or quick call to the early holders with OC?

lol, you're welcome to keep waiting and being stubborn, just means more 22 holders will get their vehicles sorted first.

I think you mean I'm being stubborn by not having changed from OC? So I guess your comprhension is worse than I feared.

I have been in touch with CEC as recently has an hour ago, bringing up the point that I have not heard from anyone to discuss changing.

The CS reps that I have reached are not in a postion to make that change. I have to wait to be contacted by someone else.

My 'comprhension' is fine. Have you been assigned a guide/signed PBA? If not you can change it yourself. If you really haven't heard anything(which is why I assume you haven't received a guide). That's what you do.

My VIN appeared Sunday, spoke to my guide today and she said it is already in transit from Normal to the service center. Might have actually passed it on the Ohio Turnpike Saturday :CWL:
