So… truck didn’t pass inspection. Front end damage. No details but delivery canceled. Option is either fix at body shop or find same make and work through new VIN number and actually finding another truck. Hopes smashed again, but still hopeful 3.5 year journey will end soon…

Finally received truck- had about 2 weeks. Love it. Have taken it carving in the canyons- sports mode lowest setting and it handles incredible for a truck. Able to then throw it in off road mode and go to the top of saddleback mountain in Southern OC. Great day! Scrapes are just dust- no impact to paint!

Easy going. Some were airing down- I think simply because of the sharpness of some rocks.

Should have added- Left the peak with 123 miles of range, got to bottom in 48 minutes with 143 miles via regen. Was in off road setting, all around, highest default setting.

If this is your first EV and live in California (as this forum group should only be Californians), and you are anxious to get an EV now, and before your Oct-Dec or later delivery window---I found this short-term lease for Tesla's ( www.autonomy.com ) take a look at it and let me know what you think. I started the process this past Sunday, should have my Model 3 (19" wheels base model, 2022, with only 21 miles on it in a couple of weeks) .... this makes the waiting on the R1S a little more palatable for me.

Only available in CA at the moment.

Also, their app/website indicates a Model 3 only, but they do have options for the Model Y too, and options for long range, or performance versions. The Model Y may take 3-4 weeks to get though ...

The minimum 3-month commitment will get me to my Oct-Dec window for my R1S.
