With gas prices over $5.00 a gallon and trending higher, the timing to go electric is fantastic.

I'm paying 6.4 cents ($0.064) per kWh on my EV PLAN with SRP (energy provider) from 11pm - 5am. For July/August it jumps up to a whopping $0.0643 kWh . We have a Tesla solar system with Powerwalls, so I use the excess energy to add about 40-50 miles per day via solar (like my own gas station someone told me).

Thats a sweet price. My utility (PGE) in OR charges ~14 cents/kWh at all times (I pay extra for the ‘green’ plan) but that is only what I pay over and above what my 8kW PV system produces

What is your current utility rate to charge?

In SoCal with SCE you can get a TOU—D-Prime which gives off peak from 9pm to 4pm at 20-21 cents a kWh. Otherwise off peak is 31-35 cents per kWh. These rates make it very easy to get a 5 year or less ROI for solar installations.

In Coachella Valley, CA if you have IID for your utility you can get 11.69 cents per kWh.

6.6 cents to us is a steal.

We have very cheap electricity up here $0.065/kWh CAD or $0.051 USD fixed year-round, but obviously, we use a lot more in the winter months.

Checking out the NV Energy website, it looks like my current at home rate will be about .06 per kWh between 10pm-8am, here in N. Nev. I believe it‘s about .09 per kWh during high use, mid-day hours. Pretty, pretty, pretty cheap, compared to $5.40/gal. gas. Having said that, NV Energy has announced they are getting ready to raise their residential rates ?

Seattle City Light rate (2nd block, which EV charging will quickly push you into) is $0.13/kWh.

We add about 40-50 miles per day to the Rivian via excess solar production (depending upon the AC use here in the desert).....If I would have known I would have doubled the size of my solar system.

SDGE (San Diego) TOU-1 Super Off Peak Midnight to 6am is $.234 per kWh. Thankfully I have solar which will help offset the costs.
