Just got my VIN assigned, 68xx. Wish they had an online tracker to see where in process it is so I could know when to start insuring it so I can finish my 8 step process.
You don't need to insure it until they give you a scheduled date for delivery. Same thing with the payment step too.

Are there any issues with the truck? As long as it is fully sorted and nothing wrong, I wouldn't be bothered by the build date.
Honestly, I'd prefer an early build over a current build. I think what we're seeing is the ramp to 100/day will increase issues rate vs. the slow and methodical rate early on. On one hand they may have tweaked some things from what they learned, but they are also running fast to test their throughput.

You don’t need insurance to finish the 8 step process. I just uploaded my insurance card for my Tesla and it was accepted. Once you get a Delivery date and insurance for the Rivian, just go back and upload that.

Just got my 8 steps. VIN low 4,000s…. Glacier White, BM, Dark 20s. Seems like a low VIN for just getting the 8 steps.

Vin #72xx. Delivery scheduled for 6/4. Hopefully no impact from Tropical storm Alex sweeping across South Florida.
I hope you get yours. I'm in South Florida and received mine today. They trailered it down from Orlando to West Palm Beach, and then a guide took an Uber up from Miami to pick up the truck and physically drive it further south to my house.

He said I was "lucky" because they were debating about cancelling the delivery today due to the weather. I hope they don't cancel yours over a little rain.

Awesome. Hope you enjoy it. Mine is delayed until next week. My loan paperwork was not processed in time for delivery. Rivian does not accept bank drafts, so I have to wait for an actual check to be delivered to me so I can upload it to Rivian. Sheesh!!!

I'm just wondering what the production rate really is. And thought of comparing the latest deliveries to the most recent by VIN. Please share your recent delivery date with your VIN #

With VIN’s in the 7000 range it appears that Rivian is on track with its 15k R1 production goal for 2022.

I think they're doing all they can to produce more than 15k R1 vehicles. They just aren't saying this yet, but RJ seemed to hint that some near-term supply chain issues have gotten better.

Anyone know if the VINs are specific to the model or do the EDVs use these too? Meaning does the 7000 include EDVs?

I think about what is really going on? Does Rivian assign VIN in a specific way, or does my guide not tell me all the information?
When the guide called me back on 5/17 and told me my car is going into production.
at 10 PM on 6/2 I got the VIN - 61**. My build is in signature.
Now my guide says the car is "in transit" and when SC will get it, he will give me more info.

Base on how VIN's have work the last 6 digits being the serial number I would say the R1S will have a different not intermingle with the R1T. They will have their own series.

It’s all in how “going into production” is defined. My guess is that is when the guide became aware of a truck they could assign to a reservation holder. Congratulations, hope you enjoy it ??
