Interior space wise, does the Lightning feel bigger? I would assume so considering it’s a full size vs mid size especially if you feel that parking it is “tighter”.

Because the Ford looks very similar to the ICE, I wonder if I’ve seen it in the wild already. You know you’ve seen an R1T…. which is part of the appeal.

Although, Teslas used to stand out too but there are so many here in SoCal, they have become the norm. :)

And this explanation is a big reason why I choose to take delivery of a R1T next Thursday for a mere $2k more than a lower range, lower performance, and vastly lesser equipped Lightning XLT ER. Not that Ford let many Alabamians order one anyway...?
Wow right place at the right time - Jan22 R1T order date

The Lightning feels a lot roomier interior space wise. But I like the fact that Rivian picked a spot in the middle of the F150 and Ranger. As far as parking goes, the Ford is more "floating & boaty" when compared to the R1T. The steering doesn't feel as precise or as connected to the driver as the R1T. Not that the Lightning is numb, it's just isn't as nimble.

@MNLightning Thanks for the response.

I think for people who drive full size trucks, the Lightning is something they would prefer. For people coming from ICE cars, or even just EVs in general, the R1T is probably more their flavor.

I see you have decided to sell the Lightning... good luck!!

I truly think the wind noise is a hit-or-miss situation with Rivian. Mine is really quiet, even at high speeds.
Me too. Quietest vehicle I have ever had...by a large margin.

I think the wind noise many of us have is due to poor side glass alignment vs what its supposed to be like. Mine is going in tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have a silent cabin shortly also.
