That is true for pretty much every offroad brand. How many Rubicons or Defenders ever leave the pavement or get into terrain where they need to air down? I've seen far more Rubicons at Costco than on the trail. I agree that most Rivians won't leave the pavement except for maybe some fire roads, but my Rivian will see some jeep trails that require ground clearance and airing down...that being said I'll be selective because I'm not sure I want to pin stripe my $80K R1S...

Haha. Don't think I could get her to move from Dallas. I would have loved to go to work for someone like Rivian but I'm not an engineer despite what Toyota was smoking during that job offer. Wonder what other fantasies they would have said yes to? Lol.

Why does Toyota do this to their cars? It's almost as if they are trying to make them ugly! I almost went to work for Toyota years ago. They asked for 3 years in Vegas and then would let me go to Torrance. Even though it was a finance position, they agreed to let me run a full EV sports car division (my idea). They thought it was funny that that was what I asked for as part of the deal. Probably thought EVs were going to be a niche project. The wife nixed the whole thing because she hated Vegas.

One of the perks Toyota had was two free cars. A Toyota and a Lexus. I had a Porsche at the time and was told I'd have to leave it at home. While she's keen on the R1S we are waiting on-another one is not enough to entice her. Nice thought though.

Vegas sucks and so does Toyota

Vegas just wasn't for us. It was hot as hell in March. Not the best place to raise a family IMHO. But, the people at Toyota were the best group of people. Everyone I met was very nice. Most people stay on for decades. It's like a cult of very nice and happy people. The products could do with some spicing up though.
