Had my initial call/PBA signed last week (Monday) - was not given a timeframe but guide was confident we would know soon. (Nov 2020 pre-order). Only thing that was interesting is that we'll need weighted plates which costs more than normal plates

Thanks. I have not seen that anywhere else. So we have to pay for weighted tags and the ev tax?

Yes, you need weighted plates. If the GVW is over 7000, you need them. I am transferring weighted plates from the Silverado I sold (to CarMax, better offer than Rivian) to my Rivian. When they delivered my truck last week I was given an NC DMV title application (for the registration, whether you have a lien or not) and an LPOA (limited power of attorney) to allow them to process. I’ve sent mine in and tracking says Rivian has it. I licensed 15,000 pounds on my Silverado plates but Rivian put 9,000 on the paperwork. Your weight has to cover vehicle load, and any trailers. To keep things simple, I’m processing with the 9,000 to make it move, and will add weight at the DMV. My boat, motor and trailer is probably 7,000 (24’ Boston Whaler). The registration and weight on the Silverado (exclusive of property tax) was around $400 annually I think…

I have a March /April delivery window for LE blue R1T. Located charlotte area.. was wondering if there has been any guide contacts for people in NC?

My Sept. ‘21 order is coming to Chapel Hill via flatbed from Richmond in a couple of weeks. The guides have been very helpful and communications have been excellent. The Richmond service center is close to the Amtrak station so taking the train is a good option too. They’ll pick you up!
