Can confirm. When I transferred my Tesla from Texas to MA they just asked if I wanted EV plates, I said sure, and the girl put back the normal ones and grabbed the EV plates from under her desk.

Honestly? None. I guess you could consider it's a hell of a lot easier to remember your plate number now, because mine is EV and only 4 digits. It could also help if you were in an accident, where the fire department would be able to know immediately the car is an EV, so they can handle things accordingly. In something like a Tesla, they know by now. But with a Rivian, they may not

My truck was delivered to me in ME that was sent to Chelsea SC with temp tag plates issued from IL.

Good reminder! I just got my mor-ev trucks application approved for the full $7500. Their site has said there’s 198 remaining slots for a few months. Not sure how many really remain so don’t wait if you have your truck now.

FYI, for proof of gvwr, I used the page from the R1T owners manual and they accepted that. They had originally asked for the certificate of origin but my guide wasn’t able to get that for me.
