I also got a call from a Guide yesterday, wanting to check on my configuration. The stated reason was to be able to update delivery windows. I confirmed my want / need for the max pack. The guide had access to my configuration and we confirmed a couple things. I'm committed to waiting for the max pack based on towing needs and frequent travel to northern Wisconsin (where they haven't really heard of fast charging stations, lol). And I'm genuinely enjoying my I-Pace until the R1T is available.

Later in the day I received an email on the Digital Purchasing Process. I'm guessing it is PR to keep me excited.
"...We’ve been ramping up production at our manufacturing campus in Illinois, and we’re excited that your R1 is almost ready to go.
The next step before delivery is for you to complete the digital purchasing experience. Hosted within your Rivian Account, it includes everything you need to take ownership — from title and registration to financing, insurance, final payment and deciding where and when you’d like your R1 delivered. "
I received the same email when I was assigned a guide (with my guide's info at the bottom). Though I'm mid-purchase process, my guess is that it's an email that was triggered by the guide assignment, even if you aren't about to receive delivery.

Yep, this right here is right I think.

I got a similar email right around when I got my guide assigned. No sign of the next steps yet here, though. Two months in to having a guide and the wait is killing me!

This! Exactly. You're a few months ahead of me and I share the frustration as someone who has observed the same thing. Obviously there are a lot of factors at play that I don't have any insight into, but as we've pointed out so many times, without better guidance from Rivian, this leaves us to speculate which isn't great.
Agreed!

thats crazy.

maybe its because you got assigned around the time they went from Rivian Lottery to R1 Shop and also announced changes/delays to delivery windows. seems like it could potentially be a big data mess at Rivian right now.

Yep I think you’re exactly right here. Though, I never received and updated delivery window and my guide said it shouldn’t impact me at all, which is proving to be at least somewhat incorrect.

what is the limit now if not a week?
I don't think there is a limit anymore. Once you get in, until you purchase a truck, you seem to be able to get into the R1 Shop anytime.

My email came first introducing the R1 Shop on 6/14/2022. Back then, I got in for only a week, and then it stopped. But after a only a few days whenever I clicked on the link "Explore The Shop" on the email invitation, I found that it let me access the shop photos and inventory.

So, hang on to the invitation when you get it. Don't delete it, if that's the key to getting you in.

That makes me want an invite even more.

Wow, Santa Combo sighting!

Also, my exact config is right there. I can has? ?
With your preorder date and listed build I actually wouldn't be too surprised if you had a VIN soon. They seem to be cranking out those builds and many 2021 preorders have trucks now. Of course your location also is a big factor.

Also, this is the most trucks I've seen at one time in the Shop. None even close to my preferred build ?‍♂

I certainly feel like I've moved into the "in the coming weeks" window for getting a guide assignment and starting my 8 Steps to Glory but the closer it gets the harder it is to wait. It's just sad to know that my exact config was made and "orphaned" but is out of reach for me. My solace comes in the fact that it will almost certainly go to someone who placed their preorder before mine.

I also feel like I'm in that window of "getting a guide in the coming weeks". But I've also felt that way for the past month and it's mentally exhausting me, the disappointment of never being contacted and seeing others getting their trucks. I wish I could just check-out and stop caring, but man, I sure can't. There's nothing I want more than this truck right now

I kinda feel like a kid who knows Christmas is coming but doesn't know what day it is because every morning I wake up and check my phone looking for that email from Rivian. I feel the same way about wishing I could just check out and go with the whole "it'll come when it comes" but at this point I don't think that's realistic. I thought having a First Drive would take some of the edge off, but if anything it's made it harder to wait.

It gets worse when you have a guide :( Eight weeks of the “did I get a VIN?” checks on my account.

Does the FG/FE combo have the underbody protection? In particular the configuration with the full-size spare tire. Asking for a friend.
