Driveway trade in review

Got $44,000 from Driveway for my 2018 JLUR with 46,000 miles ($1000 less than I paid for it new). Carmax was next closest at $41,000, nobody else was above $40. Rivian was $38.

Only downside to Driveway was it took almost 45 days to complete the transaction, so if you need the the funds for your Rivian take this into consideratio.

I second that. It took me nearly 3 weeks. Very simple but takes awhile. You can ask them to expedite the process. Lucky for me I've had my 8 steps for a month now and started the process immediately.

I’m following this thread closely so when I eventually get ”the call” (email?) I will have a good plan to get the most for my Tacoma TRD Pro. Does this seem like a fairly comprehensive list of decent options?

My ex got herself an Ioniq5 a few months ago and sold her Volt to Carmax for a great price, but none of those online options was worthwhile for her 2003 Honda Element so she put it up for sale on cars.com and that same day a small local dealer contacted her and offered her more than KBB value for it. All she had to do was drop it off the next day and was handed a check.

That's a pretty comprehensive list for ICE cars. It doesn't hurt to check with everyone, and then choose the best combination of price and logistics for you.

There are definitely changes happening, for sure...

The super high Rivian R1T prices ($125k - $130k+) aren't happening anymore, despite what you may see people asking.

The same thing applies to Tesla--just because they're backed out a bit on production, doesn't mean you can ask more than the price of a Model 3 Performance for a LR AWD, etc.

It's taking some time for buyer/seller expectations to catch up with this, but we're here to help and enjoy chatting with buyers and sellers.

Ultimately, we'd like to see increased accessibility to all EVs, as it's why we started Find My Electric (i.e. not everyone can afford $100k+ for an EV; lots of folks need to buy a 2018 Model 3 etc. to get into one).

That said, the EV market overall is still strong and it doesn't look like this will be changing anytime soon, even when production catches up. ICE vehicle prices will probably be impacted more than EV prices at that time.
