August/Sept R1S Deliveries

Looked through this forum and can't find a thread specific to R1S deliveries. I have an Aug/Sept window with an April 2019 reservation date and have yet to be contacted by Rivian, much less a guide. Has anybody with a R1S order and an Aug/Sept window been contacted? Chat just told me that the Rivian Shop is not available for R1s and that my delivery window is still Aug/Sept. When I told her that Aug was almost over, she said "well then it will be Sept" and a guide will contact you a "couple weeks before"

CS has a point... when your cable technician schedules an 8-10a install window, do you call them at 8:45 to ask where they are?

There have been a dozen or so VINS assigned to those with an R1S Aug/Sept window, as well as two I've seen with Oct/Dec. This has been spread over various forums and platforms. Deliveries have started this week, some on this forum scheduled tomorrow and over the next couple days if you use the search tab you can find.

Several R1S vehicles have been seen now at service centers throughout the US, seemingly showing that more fluid deliveries are imminent.

Most all colors and wheel choices, as long as they have Black Mountain and the Underbody Shield seem to be represented and built. LimeStone, Launch Green and El Cap seem to be heavier in the mix, but nothing scientific, just observation.

I added the underbody shield this morning to my build in hopes that my day one reservation will get me put back into the mix of an early VIN potential.

I think you do when they have no-showed several times over the last 4 appointments. Gotta remember that initial "appointment" was 2020

Of course I was teasing and can understand your angst and frustration as an early preorder, but you should know by this point that CS chat is useless and won't be able to provide any detailed information regarding your delivery

Figured you were. I don't really want to add a $2000 shield that I won't really use to get an earlier delivery. I think if they bump me again, I will get something else for now.

Knowing Rivian....in that example...they should start calling at 8:01

There is an Aug/Sept thread but it's been predominantly R1T folks posting on there. I appreciate this new thread specifically for R1S deliveries, and hope to be reporting back here s00n.

As of yet, no guide assignment or config confirmation email or anything of the sort. My pre-order date is probably more recent compared to others in this window so I wouldn't be surprised if I see movement closer to Sept/Oct.

Same for me... April 2019 order date, not a peep, no ETA on delivery.

Feb 2019 pre-order, R1S, El Cap, BM, 22" sport brights, underbody shield... was in May/June delivery window and pushed to August/September.... not a peep from Rivian or a guide yet

Oct/Dec window but my guide texts me almost daily. Weird how random the windows and guide assignments are.

No new info from my guide, though, he's just watching closely to make sure OC won't cause a delay but that's all.

I got the June email stating I’d have an Aug/Sept delivery. CS confirmed that’s still my delivery window, and to expect it delivered end of September with guide contact early September. Not holding my breath, but hopeful!

What is the deal with the underbody shield? Adding it is supposed to get you your car faster, I guess? Seems pretty expensive for people that won't use it

I know it doesn't help you any, but I just saw my first R1S in the wild. It was not at a service center awaiting delivery. It was actually in the hands of a customer being driven around town.

That's a good sign... Right?

In other news, the owner did acknowledge jumping to the front of the line using his status as a Rivian employee. The owner was reportedly the 7th R1S delivery in this area. So, this bodes well for other Rivian employees, but it may not indicate non employees are any closer to taking delivery.
