Wow how did you get the pink temp reg form? Did it come from PA or RegUSA?
RegUSA

I would call pa dmv which is a horrible experience itself
I was thinking of taking it to the local tags and titles shop where we registered our vehicles after moving back to PA earlier this year. They were efficient and helpful. Have to say, the DMV in person experience was actually incredibly easy and efficient when we went to get our driver's licenses. Doubt it will be the same on the phone dealing with something more complicated like this.

My temp tags are good through the end of Oct, but following this thread I'm not waiting around passively. I emailed my guide last week requesting he give me any updates he could, but don't expect to hear back. I did tell him my plan was that if I didn't hear anything by the end of Sep then I would be requesting a refund of all the fees so I could take it to the local office to do it myself in Oct.

Temp plates expire 9/23. In my last contact with my guide I was told my paperwork was lost on its way to ID. They gave me the option to have the paperwork sent to me for self registration, which is what I chose to do. They will reimburse me for the reg fees.

Now I just have to hope all the needed paperwork gets to me in time.

Took delivery on 6/14, no pink paper yet. If that’s a harbinger of paperwork flowing towards Harrisburg, then as RJ (ironically) says on Family Guy, “there is no way” I will get my registration in less than 10 days.

It’s so bad that it almost seems intentional.

I haven't been sent any pink papers.

In my last discussion with a Rivian "Team Lead, Delivery Experience & Escalations" I was told to expect the paperwork to be completed in 7-10 business days as of Friday. I was told specifically to expect to have, "everything in hand" no later than September 16th as they have a process for special expedited service.

I think that claim is tremendously dubious, borderline fantastical, but it has to play out. Blowing this new (4th? 5th?) deadline will be crushing though.

got my plates after 94 days. one of the lucky ones i guess.
Update - The Oregon DMV has now received the registration but Rivian shorted them $326 so the DMV sent me a letter stating they can’t process the registration until the balance is received. Went to the DMV today to just pay the $326 and DMV said the filing hasn’t been released in their system yet so they couldn’t view it, but they did say there were enough fees paid that allowed them to issue a new temporary trip permit (so I’ve got that going for me). This is just ridiculous and I don’t put the blame on the OR DMV.

MGC0216…. I agree. Just waiting to get pulled over by a well intentioned and curious police officer. If I do he/she will hear a long sob/ranting story about the Rivian Title & Registration group….

Update - Finally received my title on Sept 1, almost 5+ months after taking delivery but no registration. I’m assuming this is because I was transferring my custom plates from my prior truck. I never would have thought this was going to be the most difficult part of the purchase process….

I emailed my guide about two weeks before my plates expired (beginning of August). Received a message about a week later that my guide was reaching out to RegUSA for an ETA. In the meantime, she said I could just request a temp tag extension by bringing all my paperwork to the Colorado DMV.

Never received a further update from my guide or RegUSA. I also couldn't get a temp tag extension at the DMV. I had an Illinois drive-away permit and never had a CO temp tag in the first place. Also, if I had to make a trip to the DMV with all my paperwork I would have just registered myself.

I wasn't too concerned about driving with the expired temp-tags. About mid-August I received the FedEx envelope with my new plates. Interestingly, the CO paperwork was dated about two weeks prior. This meant it took two weeks for the plates to be mailed to RegUSA from the DMV and then FedExed back to me in Colorado. Not the smoothest process. I love my truck but Rivian is failing customer service.

Well at least my guide replied. He's on vacation this week and said he would look into it next week when he returns, but that it typically takes 45-60 days and said "your's is in process". Whatever that means. My clock started Aug 2nd and expires at the end of Oct. I'll take the pink sheet I received as a good sign, but by day 60 I'll be asking for whatever I need to do it myself.

Update: I finally received my PA MV-1 'pink slip' sales document in scanned / emailed format today. It was dated 8/26 - three months and two weeks after my delivery.

Glad/not glad I found this thread. Glad because misery loves company, not glad because I didn’t realize the ineptitude ran this deep.
My ninety day temp tag expired nine days ago. I had followed up with my guide numerous times to make sure it was being taken care of - always assured it was. I emailed RJ on expiration day four. I heard from a “Team Lead, Delivery Experience & Escalations” the same day. She stated “I’ll give you a call on Tuesday (yesterday) with an update” but they were estimating the 19th.
She emailed (too chicken to call?) yesterday with no additional news other than “our leadership team is still working with our processor to get your registration expedited “.
After reading this thread I think it’s safe to assume they have no clue where this registration stands and are just hoping it resolves itself.
These kind of self-inflicted wounds make Rivian look totally inept.

Chalk me up to another Oregon-location Temp tag expiration. June 11 delivery, and now I've been exchanging emails with my guide for several weeks., I'll hit my temp expiration tomorrow. I'll see if I can check with ODOT to check whether on not they have the paperwork but in the meantime I am at the mercy of Rivian/vendor. I expect to hear back from the guide after they 'check with the department' that deals with this.

I suppose I can get an appointment with the DMV and get a trip permit.

Well, I received a new plate and a PA temp registration today along with the physical copy of the bill of sale. This is a positive development, except for I wanted to transfer my personalized plate. They've already apologized for it, and offered to cover any costs, but it's just another example of them snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

This thread made me not want to deal with this. I just asked my guide if I could self-register it and avoid the potential disappointment while saving some dollars.

A post-script to this story: It took about 95 days for me to get my plates. But, I didn't really want the standard Oregon design, so I went online and ordered new plates in a different design. it took me 4 days to get those - the point being, the long delays here in Oregon are probably much less about the DMV than they are about Reg USA and Rivian.
