No plates, Day 12 using rental car.

Well FedEx was just here and dropped off an envelope inexplicably containing a pink PA MV-1 and two copies, a new permanent plate, AND a paper PA temp tag with a 12/5/22 expiration date. I say inexplicably because this was originally supposed to be a transfer of my old plate. So much for that I guess.

So I suppose I’m supposed to use the pink MV-1 and the temp tag until my paper registration card for the new tag they sent me comes. Glad the plate I had planned to transfer wasn’t a vanity plate, that probably would be a mess to try and unfook at this point. At least I’m legal, hope the rest of you get some goodness from FedEx this week too.

I have about 12 days left. My guide still seems confident it will get done before then but I am beginning to have my doubts. He has been trying to follow up with the registration team for a week now, but "they have been swamped lately" and "hopefully we'll have a response in the next few days."

Unless things change drastically by Dec, I'll be specifying self registration as well. This is beyond ridiculous at this point.

Glass roofs breaking
Tonneau covers failing
12v Batts going bad
Seatbelt recalls
CV joint failures
Loose underbody bolts
Wet spots under driver floor mat
Excess cabin wind noise
Creaking sounds when accelerating
Passenger side lower than driver side

Now can't even deliver plates/Title?

The hours and hours I have wasted. Told my guide weeks ago needed new temp tags... She must be carving them on the mountain in a slab of granite... And then dropped it on the way down.

According to some.. Rivian has said they are actively searching for a new company to process their vehicle title & registration needs. Hopefully that's true because it would be hard to do a poorer job than RegUSA is doing presently.

Took delivery 6/27. Temp registration expires 9/23. Asked my guide if I could self register. 3 business days later received necessary paperwork from Rivian. Registered my R1T this morning.

My guide has been very responsive and helpful. Mutual respect. Seems like my guide is the exception to the rule.

Funny thing - lots of reviews from 2021. Yet Rivian went with them... Yet another horrible management decision. They offered me a rental until Reg comes through...no wonder they're bleeding cash.

As I had mentioned in another thread... Rivian is not a very well run company at this time.

Better yet, cancel your reservation. It's such a horrible terrible cluster of a vehicle that I've ordered a 2nd one. If you could step out of line it would be greatly appreciated!

I took delivery on 6/18, and my temp tags expire tomorrow (9/11). In late July my credit union sent me a letter because it had been >30 days and they had not yet received the title, so I emailed my guide who was able to provide a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin and a Letter of Guarantee that just promised they would list the credit union on the title/registration. Those documents appeased the guy at the CU at least, and I never followed up to see if they have received the actual title. Maybe I'll do that on Monday.

At that time (Aug. 6) my guide told me "we received an ETA of sometime before 8/17 for title and registration." With no word on anything and the expiration looming, I emailed back on Tuesday 9/6 to see if he could check, and he replied a couple hours later saying "I have a member of Management following up for me. I should know more in the morning." Didn't get any more update, so I responded Thursday 9/8 and haven't gotten anything back yet.

I wish I had just asked them to send me the documents and I'd deal with it myself. I already have to go surrender the plates off the vehicle I traded in, so I could have just taken care of both at one time. Here's to hoping law enforcement around here doesn't look too closely at the date.

I'm in the same boat about a week behind you. I notarized the Power of Attorney 4 weeks after delivery. 4 weeks later they tell me they had tried to renew my expired registration from my trade in, so they were essentially starting all over again. Last week my guide said it was "processing" but didn't say if that was within Rivian or the DMV. A call to the DMV confirms they have nothing yet.

And now the DMV has my personalized plates ready to be picked up. Now I just need the registration to get them!
