Are you the most seasoned driver of the production model?
Well >17k miles in 5 months is a lot of driving, especially considering I don’t have a commute, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone out there has driven even further.

8900 miles after six months. Trips from Mountain View to Santa Barbara and my daily commuter. Did great at Hollister Hills Vehicle Recreation area. Fast out of the hole vs Tesla Model 3 performance. Above 75, Tesla started to benefit from less wind resistance.

By the way, drove a Ford Lightning last weekend - feels big, rides better and faster than ICE F150s. Owner said functional mileage is less than system predicts. If you need a bigger bed/more work oriented truck, you may want to go that way.

But, for my money, Rivian R1T is just the best truck....ever! Overall happiness score -100%!

Why new tires
They were worn down and needed replacement. Maybe had 3-5k miles more life if I was staying on the highway but didn’t feel good about them after 2 puncture incidents in 2 days.

Most folks reported the AT tires wearing better than the 21s and 22s but after reading this I'm not sure anymore.

How has your efficiency been?

Ive been getting just below 2 mi/kWh on average. My FE was out of alignment from the factory so that could have contributed. Also a lot of off-road miles.

Yeah for now. 2 tires were still in good shape so I just got two new Pirelli’s and picked the best of the other 3 to keep as the spare. If I keep the Rivian (big if the way I’m feeling right now) I will probably look at a proper off road tire for replacement. Also considering some studded winter tires for snowboarding season.

Despite @jjswan33 's misfortunes recently, I totally agree. I only had 100 miles with the Lightning, and while it would be a great electric truck if there wasn't competition, Rivian is here and is KILLING it. There hasn't been a day I disliked like the Rivian or wasn't smiling at some point, even in today's crazy 3 hour flipped garbage truck commute, whereas the Lightning had me going "ugh" the moment I got home and tried doing my normal 3-point turn back-in.

I actually wholeheartedly agree. I love this truck so much, it’s just awesome but that just makes me sad that Rivian can’t be everything I want it to be.

Has me thinking about buying a second car so I don’t have to be reliant on the Rivian. GV60 maybe? Kinda wish I hadn’t sold my EV6.

17377 miles and counting. 14 states, 2 countries and 2 new tires last week.
Out of curiosity since you already replaced 2 tires, what drive mode are you using the most? I should get my truck in the next couple of weeks and I commute ~320mi round trip for work 2 days a week so I drive a TON. Just curious if I want to stay out of Conserve or what. Thanks!
