It’s an old meme sir, but it checks out.
Whoa. Good find.So we won't get updated windows until the end of October. As per https://rivian.com/support/article/...e-the-next-round-of-delivery-window-estimates
Can't take credit. It was posted by Jimmy at RivianStories.Whoa. Good find.
That’s some Rivian double speak and Is going to upset a lot of people.
That last bit sounds like some more configuration changes are in store, as I can't imagine what a pre-email to the delivery window email would even have, unless it is telling people that something is no longer available, has wholly shifted further back, or they spell out geographic limits for deliveries (which are already a thing, just not clearly defined). We'll also be sending an email with additional details towards the end of September so that you know what to expect with Octobers' delivery window communications.”
I think you are looking at 2 different things. That October date is for people that did not get an updated 2022 window back in June. The update we are waiting for is an update for the people with a 2022 window. So we won't get updated windows until the end of October. As per https://rivian.com/support/article/...e-the-next-round-of-delivery-window-estimates
Some of us are “both”I think you are looking at 2 different things. That October date is for people that did not get an updated 2022 window back in June. The update we are waiting for is an update for the people with a 2022 window.
That is my situation as well. We had an R1S LE (July-Sept) and R1T Adv (Oct-Dec). We got an updated date for our R1S (1H 2023). But nothing for the R1T aside from "you'll hear more by end of summer". Would be nice to know if its 1H 2023, 2H 2023 or 2024 for planning. Some of us are “both”
I did not get an update in June, but I was assigned Oct to Dec 2022 back in winter 2021.
So I was a 2022 delivery that is now waiting to see when I am really going to get a truck.
Just speculationSo we won't get updated windows until the end of October. As per https://rivian.com/support/article/...e-the-next-round-of-delivery-window-estimates
Well based on this Im sure my late preorder R1S, 3 hours from the service center, OC interior is going to push from 1H2023 to End of time."Your Adventure package R1S estimated delivery window is the first half of 2023.
Your delivery window estimate is based on your preorder date, delivery location, and current configuration. Here’s why your window has shifted:
Preorder date - check - 1/1/19
- Supply chain
As we’ve continued to navigate a tight supply chain, we’ve had to reduce complexity wherever possible, including prioritizing certain build combinations over others.- Service Infrastructure
We continue to prioritize deliveries in locations where service infrastructure is in place so that we can provide the full ownership experience to Rivian owners from day one."
delivery location - check - 1.5 hrs away
current configuration - check - CS indicated there is nothing holding up my R1S I even like the BM interior.
(purchase share - check - and lost 60% of the value.)
(signed a purchase agreement - check - preemptively signed to have hope for a rebate.)
Here’s a concept, if you say that you give priority preorder dates then following that rule allows people to understand that you are actually doing what you say.
Currently, deliveries give the impression of being dysfunctional because they failed to follow their stated procedures and failed to articulate any change to that policy. This causes angst and frustration. It also means you are throwing your CS people under the bus since they are at a loss to explain what we are seeing. Most of the CS folks I have spoken with are awesome, especially in the last 4 months.
In a recent post, I said the process was not democratic, meaning it was a system that the citizenry thought was unfair. I am not sure anyone can articulate and justify how the delivery allocation truly works.
