Go in and configure the max pack, it will probably push you to 2024 in January.
Yeah. However, for right now, I’m just going to chill and see what happens. Suddenly having separation anxiety, as I love my FJ and can’t bare the thought of selling it. I was looking forward to one more summer with it ☹

Whoa! Not ready for this. I was expecting very late 2023, at best, for the R1T. Estimated delivery date is now Feb/Mar 2023. I really need to push this out some. Not sure if that can or will happen. We’ll see. Guess I’ll just play it by ear, for now.

Feb 2022 preorder. Originally an R1S. Just recently changed it to an R1T - see attached details. BTW, I am a solid 2.5 hours away from the nearest (Sacramento) service center. I was hoping to have a Reno SC open by the time I took delivery. So, if proximity to a SC is a priority criteria, I’m not sure how my number came up.

May I ask how you changed from an R1S to an R1T? And do you keep your original pricing (ie pre-increase)?

This is insane and frustrating.
estimate says: Jan - Dec 2024.
reservation date: Jan 2022
Original estimate: 2H of 2022.

I have adventure pack and black mountain interior (not ocean coast).
Seems like this is very random selection of delivery window.
Remember, people have been waiting 4yrs around here.

Hmmm, my preorder date is 02/21 for an R1S (LA Silver, OC) and my delivery window is Jan-Dec 2024! Needless to say, very disappointed and honestly surprised. Why provide a 12 month window that is 14 months away?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ would have been more honest.
Just wait for the shop.

Rivian has been pretty upfront about prioritizing the R1T over the R1S at this stage. I understand how that can be frustrating. But at this point, if you want to hold out for a R1S over a R1T, you need to accept customers that want a R1T over a R1S may get a delivery before you.
I totally get that. It why I was only mildly annoyed that I was seeing R1Ts that were ordered years after my order get delivered locally.

What has me wound up now is seeing people in multiple markets that have R1S orders -years- after mine with delivery windows.

There are people with delivery windows (and some that have already had trucks delivered) hundreds of miles from a service center. Some of those trucks are being flat bedded hundreds of miles to the service center next to my house.

I don't have an exotic configuration (LA silver, mountain black, 20" AT) and am being told that I don't have a delivery window estimate until at least January and that it's because I live too far (less than 5 miles) from a service center.

With a bit of luck...you'll get access to R1 shop earlier

One can change between vehicles on the configuration page. All pricing remains pre-March, regardless of which vehicle or options one chooses.

That is the initial SWAG, I would think in the quarterly updates through 2023 you will see much tighter windows.

How do you know its because you "live to far from a service center"? I have only read about people assuming that is the reason why they are delayed.

How do you know its because you "live to far from a service center"? I have only read about people assuming that is the reason why they are delayed.
Attaching the email I received... this is how I found out that proximity to SC overrides order date, price/packages, etc. .. even though R1Ts have been delivered in and around my city ... ?

All I can say is that after 1+yrs of routing for Rivian and the R1S .. I/we Feel betrayed.

In another thread someone proposed its not necessarily how far you live from a service center, but also how busy a service center near you is. For example, someone may live 2 hours away from a service center that isn't that busy, and they may get a delivery over someone that lives near a busy service center.
