Got a new fun EV! (Not a Rivian)

This is bike #8 for me, but my first electric bike.

Yes I ordered this before I found out about their SPAC investors backing out (whoops!)

I love it though, lack of level 2 charging is a bummer but it still picks up 12/13mi/hr at level one. I only ride occasionally and mostly short distances so it’s perfect for me. And if I’m in a pinch it does do level 3 at 25Kw (40 minute recharge).

(It’s not as close as it looks to the truck here, there is room to open both doors behind it.)

Here’s to hoping this company is still around in a few years. ?

And if you’re curious about the range it’s 145mi city, and 70 highway (95 combined). Not great, but also not really unusual for a motorcycle. There are bikes with much more range and level 2 charging… this one just spoke to me well and the dealer “network” is comfortably plentiful in my neck of the woods.

Speed wise it’s basically the same as the Rivian in sport mode. 0-60 in 3.0s, keeps pulling till it hits the limiter which is also around 115mph.

You actually can! It will charge at 220v with any EVSE, it will just only charge at the same Kw rate as 110v (or whatever the equivalent rate at 220v would be).

Really nice. Two wheels really accentuates the nonsensical size of J1772/CCS compared to something like Tesla. I'm still not sure how this was a standard that is still materializing and it's this honkin huge.

My brother is a salesman at a local HD dealer, and he didn't know this. I test drove it a couple times and it was a lot of fun, but could never convince myself to pull the trigger with the charging limitation. Had I known this detail I might have seriously considered one a couple years ago. My daily (at the time) commute would have put me at the limit of range. I have level 2 charging available at work, so even level 1 speeds on a level 2 charger would have worked for me.

It's about the same straight line performance as the R1T. 0-60 and quarter mile.
