4th quarter push. I think some reservation holders are delaying their purchase and waiting on a 2023 since it's so late in the year.

Nope.. no underbody shield... we have sand here on Long Island, no rocks so really no need for the shield.

Actually there is a truck in my R1 Shop that fits my build except they can't include the full size 20" AT spare which is not a show stopper for me because you can now buy the rims through the SC. I'd go for that truck except it's a 2022 VIN (my Guide checked it's VIN) and at this point I'm willing to wait for a 2023 VIN.

Just talked to my guide today. Really didn't have much additional information. (We previously purchased a Tesla so it was pretty similar except that Rivian wants to see insurance before you pick up the vehicle, thought that was pretty weird since CA allows you a couple of days to switch insurance).

I asked about the PPF causing delays, but she didn't know, I guess I'm her first customer with that option. Also couldn't give me much of a timeline except that the estimated delivery date is when you can expect to get the truck, not when the purchase processes starts.

Overall a nice chat but no real insight into the timing of the 8 steps being opened, or when I get a VIN.

I am in Irvine as well ... any idea if your truck was in Irvine or Normal? and how long it took for it to arrive to Costa mesa from Normal if it was there?

When I had my call with the guide about a week ago, she said the car was in Normal and to expect up to a couple of weeks for it to travel to Costa Mesa.

But then she texted me yesterday saying it had arrived in the Service Center already.

She then said it would have to be inspected. I was surprised when I got the email today around noon saying delivery was ready to be scheduled.

Did you get your VIN recently too?

I did, it is around 154XX, Dec 4 when everything started, guide gave me 3-5 weeks on the email, however when I talked to him on the phone, he said that he gave me a very conservative timing... he thinks it will be much quicker but he just said he can not promise...

Well I’m evidence it could be very quick!

I guess it depends on how/how often the trucks are transported from the plant. Maybe ask your guide if there’s an update on the truck’s location.

Does anyone taking delivery soon have the manual tonneau cover? I wonder if that’s the hold up with my R1T.
