Big "end of year push" is happening as we speak... I'm guessing they only respond to urgent matters at this point as their workload has probably drastically increased. But, even with that in mind.. I emailed my Guide yesterday and he replied in 28min which kind of shocked me because other times it takes 2 days to get a reply.
Truthfully I am just super chatty and we texted way too much and I got spoiled. Still I think there is some problem with my texts as I no longer get the automatic reply of "Thanks for reaching out.."

But again, I'm chatty and 8 days is killing me so I put in a call vs text. We will see. I actually hope it is some weird block on my text vs I just was too obnoxious and my guide ghosted me. Seems unlikely as he is super nice, but if you ask my wife of 37 years, well she would agree that ghosting me sounds like a viable and maybe even preferred option.

:)

I already have accepted that I won't get my R1T this year. Just mostly wanting to keep in touch as I'm thinking of getting that beater truck as I'm carless and it's cold in the mornings. Started trying the bus system here, but it has been unreliable. One morning it no showed so I had to Lyft to work. Another time it broke down. So I'm moving toward beater truck :)

I'm Feb-Mar '23 timeline but love following this thread. After confirming config in Nov, ETA changed to processing estimate. I did email my guide and asked for Shop access, which he replied that he requested it. Getting close!
What’s your order date? How long has it been since you requested Shop access?

So, my guide is a hero. He called me yesterday because even though he requested to get me shop access I had yet to be approved. He told me what trucks were in normal, Irvine, and el sugendo that had the powdered tonneau. I selected the truck in Normal that was actually my day one config minus the underbody shield. They removed it from the R1 shop, changed my config, and matched the vin. 8 steps opened up this morning. Exterior color and tonneau were my top needs and I got it. Holy shit I’m getting my truck. Love Rivian today!
Awesome! I’m in same boat, and waiting on Shop access by tomorrow. Hope there is a config close to mine.

The guides are definitely handling more customers now than they were two months ago. Our guide told us they used to handle about 50 at a time, and they're now doing around 300. With that said, when I email I always hear back within a day.

I'm hoping we'll start to see a bunch of VIN confirmations in the next week or two.

I emailed my guide over a week ago introducing myself - wanted to wait until well after the 11/11 rush - and asking to remove my wall charger and never heard back at all.

I get the "end of year push" chaos, but I feel like I'm getting the run around. I completed all of my steps except schedule delivery. I secured my financing but I am putting about 50% down and Rivian already has that ACH from my account. My guide can't tell me if I will get delivery in 2022 or 2023 and keeps saying once it gets to the SC it will need 2 more weeks of quality control. Maybe it won't be an issue, but I feel like partially paying for a vehicle in 2022 and then taking delivery/registering in 2023 could be a problem. I know I'm just anxious to get the truck and I don't want to be that guy that bugs his guide every day, but I am confused about how transit from IL to TX is taking longer than IL to GA or IL to CT and I'm wondering if this vehicle had some kind of QC issue that they're trying to resolve before delivery without telling me.

*rant over*
I am in the same status at Dallas SC. Vehicle in transit. Guide responds quickly to texts but does not give any specific dates. He does guarantee that he will work with SC to have it delivered before end of Dec. Hope it works out that way considering tax implications.

I’ve been trying to get this info for ages. How long once the truck is at the Service Center? The truck I will buy, unless it’s a QC nightmare (I have standards), is sitting 10 miles from my house and I just keep getting the vague “ they’ll call or text you when it’s ready.”

Now it’s only been a few days, but how much QC and prep does it need? Don’t they want it out of there?

I am in the same situation in Dallas! 11/13 received 8 steps and VIN. Financing already done and my first loan payment is due this month and I don’t even have delivery scheduled! Sounds ridiculous to be paying for a loan to a car I dont even have yet. What happens if QC issues are so bad, I cant/wont accept delivery of the R1T with the associated VIN I already paid for?!

Jealous of all the people getting their trucks! My guide just tells me that we're waiting for a VIN match, no more info than that. No access to R1 shop because my reservation was in 2022 (early January lol) and no idea of what might be available out there. He doesn't seem to be too keen on going down the path of alternate options and is pretty quiet in terms of communication unless I reach out myself. Other than that, the waiting game continues...not looking likely I'll get the truck this calendar year which is unfortunate.

This is a good example of why our guide said hold off on paying for the truck and doing insurance until we have a confirmed delivery date. I know that’s not possible for everyone, but I’ve heard a lot of these stories of people who handed over money and don’t have a vehicle.

I am in exactly the same boat. My guide is very responsive, but really has no information aside from "Youll get a new estimate in January" - says to me my truck is not coming any time soon.
