Good afternoon

i have an R1T and usually when I drive with my wife or my daughter we take another vehicle, but today i was taking my daughter to school and noticed the truck was not recognizing her sitting in the seat.

1). it started when she wanted to turn up the heat and the controls for her to adjust were not showing on the screen, just my side. I remembered about a week ago the same thing happened when my wife was in the truck. Additionally the warning that passenger airbag was not on was showing.

2). my daughter is 14. Both my daughter and wife weigh about 90 lbs. I would think that is heavy enough to register someone sitting in the seat.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Best

The front passenger seat sensor was originally set for something like 115 lbs and heavier.

Also worth noting is that there was an early recall back in May to replace some front passenger seats due to a manufacturer defect with the seat sensors. So might be worth contacting Rivian Service, if you have concerns, especially if your passenger is only intermittently being recognized by the seat sensor.

Thanks for that. It was already in to service for that recall. Do you know if they can set the sensor for lower? i would think that is a liability to not be able to sense under 115
