P.S. I would not go with factory XPEL.... but YMMV.

I paid $1800 for full front and headlights/ door handles with edges wrapped and it was a STELLAR job.

I actually paid $200 to get the factory XPEL (gear tunnel) removed and replaced because it was done so poorly. It looks so much better now.

I appreciate that! I could be wrong but I believe the gear tunnel PPF would be done on the line and not by the Xpel people that do the full and front PPF jobs that are add ons. The couple of owners who have posted pics of their factory results I thought it actually looked pretty good. Good enough for me anyway.

That being said, I know that I could probably find equal or better quality PPF for the same price or less if I had it done locally. It's more a matter of convenience for me than anything else. If it's done at the factory I won't need to leave it at the shop for 2-3 days while they do paint correction, etc. I will just need to leave it for a day to get a tint done and that's it. I only have 1 vehicle so this saves me quite a bit of trouble.

My guy did full front and tint in 1 day and it looks great. Paint correction was not needed on my truck IMHO. Would it have looked better? maybe, but the paint looked great.

That's good to hear. Most places seemed to require 2 days and included the correction but it's good to know others don't. I would consider changing mine but I'm already past the confirmation point so my order is as fragile as a faberge' egg and I'm afraid to even log into my account and look at it in case it causes some sort of delay.

I recall reading a Q&A somewhere where XPEL said it was actually their employees wrapping the optional front end films at the Rivian factory in Normal. I wonder if it's their people wrapping the gear tunnel doors too or is that being done by Rivian employees since every vehicle gets those wraps?

Ugh! I don't even have the 8 steps open yet so mine not there. Dec-Jan window which feels like it is getting narrow.

dec-jan window is now firmly January for us who don’t have steps yet. I’ve completely given up on the rebate at this point.

Heard from guide Midwest deliveries are taking priority from here on out / proximity to Normal plant. Outside of that expect January. At least the tax credit limits delayed till March, even with BPA some more peace of mind.

If you signed the binding purchase agreement you can just take the rebate in 2023…
