Isn’t that the soft signal feature? My GTI does this and I like it. I can just tap the signal indicator and it blinks three times and stops.
Tap is different than a short hold. Quick tap for three blinks. Hold it until you don't want blinks anymore. Rivian still does three blinks after the hold. Sometimes three is too many. Sometimes it's not enough but I don't want to activate and cancel.

Ah got it. Ok then I agree with you. Hold should stop as soon as you release it.

My simple solution for the annoying phone key is to allow the truck to unlock once it senses the key fob. It recognizes me early, so just unlock it right then or at least enhance the Bluetooth awareness. I hate just standing there waiting for my phone and truck to communicate while I wait in the rain with my hands full!!
If its any consolation, I've had this off and on with my Tesla for two years. Sometimes it picks up your phone, but when it's pissing it down and you've got your hands full and your phone is tucked away in a pocket, nothing. It's like you don't even own the fricking thing.
