I have been seeing more and more R1T’s and maybe a delivery of a R1S on Dec 26th in Gearhart? I obviously don’t know who is just passing through and who might be living here, but I am interested in connecting. Haven’t taken my R1T onto the beach yet, but would really like to. Never hesitated with my Subaru’s over the years, but for some reason the weight of the truck worries me and I really don’t want to get stuck out there! ? Would love to talk with people who have done it, and maybe we can go adventure together.

Hey D- you should be fine. I’ve done Grayland and Long Beach which both have same type of sand as Gearhart. Carry recovery boards if you plan to venture closer to the dunes and out of the tidal zone. Also, keep some speed thru access point from pavement to beach just in case.

I am in Vancouver Washington so a few hours away. But if I go to the coast I will send a shout out. But I did take mine to some Washington beaches. No problem at all. I did it on 21s and didn’t even air down

just do it!

I briefly did today! Nicely compacted sand at the approach, so just cruised on and off in Off-road mode. Probably could’ve stuck with All-purpose. There were too many people/ vehicles there to go play a little. I have the 22’s, so not ideal, but was tierd of waiting for my option with the 20’s ?

I always stay clear of the dunes, but as you know the approaches can be messy at times! Not today, so I went for it!

I also didn’t want to wait for 20s. So I don’t know when I would have got my truck. But since I switched I got my truck pretty early in july. I have loved it for 6 months now.

Hope you had fun! I have 22s too and no issues. my day at grayland had offshore winds with dry softer sand all the way down to the water. It also got really soft down towards washaway beach. definitely started to bog down so we turned around. Seemed better in all purpose than sand mode but didn’t spend enough time evaluating..
efficiency took a big hit.

Waiting for a R1S, if you want to play on the beach I’ll drive my Tahoe ice down. I might even have a toe strap. I suspect you won’t need help though.

I am getting delivery this week of my R1T and spend quite a bit of time in Gearhart. I have NEVER had an issue getting on and off Drive On Beach with my 2007 Ridgeline so I will be really ticked off if I need to call Sons of Beaches to pull the brand new expensive Rivian out of the sand.

I really doubt I there will be an issue. My main reason for keeping off the beach is cleaning up the sand afterwards.
