Front plate mounted before delivery?

I've been looking online for a resale R1S in Florida and over the last month I've seen a couple with the front license plate bracket mounted. I'm assuming these vehicles were purchased from out of state, because we don't do front tags here.

But that leads me to the question for states that do have front plates, is Rivian screwing these brackets into the front bumper before delivery?

Those that I've talked to with the front frame mounted said it was delivered like that.

If that's really what's happening right now, I think that's a bummer and Rivian should give the owner the option to do what they want with the front bracket and not screw it in before delivery and cause irreversible damage.

Not sure how it is now but 6 months ago there was a question during the “8 steps” about front license plate. You could say not to mount it. Then you needed to check something along the lines of “I acknowledge that front plates are required in my state”.

Sounds like these owners may have missed that step or it is no longer offered.

It was still an option as of yesterday.

Thank you! I guess the original owner that sold these vehicles to dealerships opted to have it mounted.

As mentioned earlier.. that is an option you decide on during the 8 Steps.

I didn't want mine mounted, I found the frame in the mesh holder in the Frunk after delivery.

It’s still optional. You tell them during your 8-step process.

It’s possible the dealers are required to have them mounted/installed

Owner from NY checking in: the service center asked me if I wanted it mounted before delivery.

I opted to have the bracket mounted.

If you opt in to having the bracket installed it will be riveted onto your front bumper. Save your bumper and get a 3P reversible option.
