So I spent some time looking for some black ash. But couldn't find either a place to do it for me or for the possibility of me doing it myself. I'm still looking and hope to have this as an option in the future. I personally want to have one in black.

But I have to say the walnut looks great in my truck. Tomorrow we will take some pictures in a forest edge truck.

My wood shop is being built out right now (DIY and trying to fit it in between my day job and family) but I plan on trying to match the interior wood as soon as I'm up and running. If I can get it to match I'll let you know. I do agree that if the look is off even a little, it'll look bad as it's right next to another piece of trim. Love the design but I'd certainly mute the wood colors down a little more. If you're doing veneers it would be easy to offer a bunch of options.

When you order let me know. Wrinks wants a pop of yellow. So I can produce a few in yellow for the base.

Epoxy fill the etched out portions in whatever color and sand it back. Would look pretty sweet.

I love the topographic map look. Regarding the wood veneer, it either has to be an exact match or a coordinating/contrasting color and I think the wood grain fights with the map a little. I would probably prefer a simple black cover (silicone, TPU, printed or even a thick decal veneer) with the topographic. Thanks for working on this, it looks like a nice upgrade over anything else I have seen.

Also I am going to be making the install video this weekend. That way everyone is on the same page. We are also going to offer a veneer option on our classic plate if you are good charging in the center console and want the easier install.

Any news on a metal plate? With or without topo... I think it would look better than the non-matching wood.

Magnet is still strong through it. We will be offering it without the cutouts. We can ask our manufacturer to do oneoffs. But it would add a decent amount to the cost.
