AUTONOMY in rural areas

I live in Southwestern Oregon and travel rural county and state highways (SR101 & SR199) primarily. I suspect these roads are years in coming to the Level 3 Autonomy maps.
Is there anything Rivian can do to enable the vehicles to learn as we drive to expedite the Level 3 Autonomy to our areas?

Rivian removed LIDAR from the R1T/R1S, so the vehicles can't collect all the data, themselves.

That said, I lived in the PNW for many years and drove HWY 199 between Crescent City and Grants Pass, regularly. It's a typical rural road with only one lane in each direction for the majority of its length. You don't need Driver+ Level 3 automation on that road. There are no lane changes to automate, for example. Simple LKAS and full-range ACC would be sufficient -- and Rivian has said those features should be enabled on ALL roads, from the start.

So is the LKAS going to steer the vehicle or just alert if it is drifting out of the lane?

LKAS is Lane-Keeping ASsistance. It actively provides mild steering. It isn't enough to do a 90 degree turn at an intersection, but it's plenty to handle gradual highway curves.

I have a Level 2 system in my vehicles and the main stretch of my commute is very easy. I keep my hand on the wheel and am ready to take over, if necessary. I also must execute turns at intersections. However, otherwise, the vehicle will accelerate, slow down (all the way to a stop, if necessary) and follow the lane markings.
