Rivian R1T R1S Sending address from app to Rivian nav? Screen Shot 2023-02-27 at 12.06.07 PM

Anyone know how to do that? Can't find it in apple maps anywhere.

lol apple maps. Try google maps. I actually haven't tried this at all with an iPhone but it works great on android through the "share" function.

Did you just get this email? This would be a huge plus if this works.

Forget the version that they added this, but it's been somewhat recent.

Just go to share and swipe over until you find Rivian as one of the app choices. It'll send over to the truck.

Works the same in Google or Apple Maps - just share location is different.

Look up an address and share from Apple Maps (or Google Maps). Then select the Rivian app...

This has been working since update 2022.47.0 - set https://rivian.software/version-2022-47-2/

It's an awesome feature, and I use it all the time. I just wish I could share addresses/coordinates from applications other than just Google Maps. I would like to share a contact, or a restaurant I look up on yelp, or a lot of other things. These other apps *do* show Rivian as an option for sharing, but if you actually try to share then you will get the message "This app isn't supported".

On iOS I have found Apple Maps to be superior, in most uses cases. It's definitely much lighter on battery usage. I also find it more visually pleasing.

Google has better POI search (not surprising) but Apple Maps is my default choice, 99% of the time. I only hop into Google Maps when I can't find what I need in Apple Maps.

And, FWIW, sending destinations to my R1T works in both Apple Maps and Google Maps... but it is much easier/quicker in Apple Maps simply because the "share" button is larger (easier to tap) and visible on the first screen after selecting a POI, rather than Google Maps which requires selecting a POI then swiping around to get to the (smaller) share button.

Regardless of which app you’re sharing from, the Rivian nav does the routing. It just takes the destination, correct?

Yes. It uses the GPS coordinates, too -- not the address. This is a good thing, imo, as you actually go to the spot on the map you want to go to, rather than relying on MapBox to try to figure out "where" you want (it is sometimes wrong).

Thanks for all the replies, found it, but it won't work. When I click send to rivian it shows the "sent" image. But in the R1S nav, nothing happens.

When in doubt reboot... try an entertainment system reboot just in case that is the issue.

The vehicle has to be on the right version as well - are the T and the S on the most current version?
