We will be reaching out to anyone who did NOT order the third party pucks. Be on the look out for that email after the test.

@Leonbmx @CommodoreAmiga @Jger928
I placed my order to include the pucks without realizing but plan to use Apple MagSafe pucks so hoping I can get the adapters as well for my order.

So just to be clear, I want to use Apple OEM MagSafe chargers with your pad. I just ordered a stained walnut pad (to match my black interior) without pucks. You slightly buff the finish to take the sheen off. I am going to order 2 MagSafe adapters from Apple. I do not need the USB adaptors as you now include a solution for that. Shipping is planned for early March. Is this all correct?

Yes our solution includes a new USB charger inside the center console. Everything is looking like an early March shipping is possible. Right now waiting on the pd chargers and the wood.

Any consideration to making the base shallower to allow the use of the oem rubber mat?

The OEM rubber mat won't allow any magsafe charger to work through it. It's too thick.

Our wood on our plate is only .6 mm thick. And I wouldn't go any thicker than that. I believe the OEM rubber mat is like 1.8 mm thick.

Tested a PD 3.0 buck charger. I was able to get 13 watts with the Apple Magsafe Chargers. So testing works. We will be putting in an order for these. For those that DID NOT order our pucks we will be sending an email to confirm which charger you want. Eventually when we run out of our original buck chargers we will switch over to this new one.

Attached are two pictures: The one with the earlier time and 39% charge was an iphone max 14 with no case directly on the magsafe charger. (control test)

Second one with the later time and 71% charge was with the wood plate in between the phone and magsafe charger. As you can see it did not change the charging speed.

I did not use a case, as each person's case will effect charging rates etc.

I should be getting our order of wood today. I will be staining the wood this weekend, and we should start shipping relatively s00n. If you are going to wait for the new PD 3.0 compatible charger please be patient as we wait for those to come in.

When I read this the only thing that's confusing me is you're explaining that the new "buck" charger (not sure what buck means) is giving the magsafe approx 13 watts...........what does the old one give, I do not see that comparison made so I cannot chose whether I want to wait or not.

If I totally misunderstood the post please let me know!

On iphone's the only magsafe charger capable of charging at greater than 7.5 watts are the official Apple magsafe ones. Unfortunately, those specific chargers require a very specific voltage/amp combo. So I had to find a new buck charger (a dc-dc voltage drop down module that outputs with a USB A or USB C plug) that would work with Apple Magsafe chargers.

If you are using aftermarket magsafe chargers (which are totally fine and work great) they can output at higher rates or the default 7.5 watts with iphones.

TLDR: Buck chargers convert the 12v to USB. New ones allow Apple Magsafe to work full speed. Third party doesn't matter.

So if using official magsafe chargers (I am) I need / want to wait for the new PD charger to arrive so that I get more than 7.5w charging which is 13w as tested) And really the only reason is b/c I already have the magsafe, otherwise it's just easier (and cheaper) to buy the generic ones through you at $15 each as magsafe chargers cost considerably more.

Yup. Basically if you want faster speeds on an iphone wait and buy Apple ones. If you don't have an iphone just use the aftermarket ones. HOWEVER: the 7.5 watts is totally fine, and is not a big deal.

@Sojhinn , is the new buck charger using usb c so we don't need a c to a adapter? Also will it provide 13w to both Apple pucks?
