I received mine on Monday. Huge box. Heavy too. I didn’t receive shipping notification, but it may have ended up in my junk folder. I knew they were coming soon since I inquired with EV Sportline. I ordered the day they were available for sale.

Finally got around to installing them this evening. Took approximately 2 hours with the 4” hole saw method. Pretty unnerving taking a hole saw to the truck, but a few beers made it easier. The templates are awesome and worked as designed. Also, no need to buy a T-55. They included one. A breaker bar was need for my bolts. Rivian must have never wanted them to come loose.

These running boards are extremely well designed. Symmetrical to both sides. Exactly. Super sturdy. No flex. Out of all the running boards I’ve had (factory and AMP), these are the fattest and sturdiest I’ve had. Big props to EV Sportline. These running boards make a night and day difference. They look awesome too. Much better in person than the photos. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you

This one, that one and the other one.

68 pages.......reminds me of kids in the back seat on a long trip....."are we there yet", "are we there yet", "are we there yet". First with Rivian, now with running boards. The wait is torturous, but I can confirm, was worth the wait. Hang in there. Rock sliders naturally have a longer wait but we know they are in full production on the running boards, so should be close now if you were an early pre-order holder.

Looks great. Did you position them to be all the way out?

They are pushed in all the the way.
Is the torx bit a T55 or TP55? Can you look at the marking? You said earlier it was a T55 but we need the TP55. It makes a difference.

Did you use the 4" rubber plugs method detailed in the following thread to cover the holes or just left them exposed?

1EV indicated in another thread that it is a TP55 bit they include.

I don’t know the difference between the two. It was a tight fit to the bolt. I just went to Harbor Freight and got a T-55 and a T-20. I didn’t need the T-20 with the 4” hole saw install.

Also, what’s the point of those 4 T-55 bolts anyway? What do they secure?

I know but @zpowell indicated it was a T55 so I just wanted to double check with him.

A T55 is torx 55, the edges of the bit are thinner. A TP55 is torx plus 55, the edges of the bit are 2-3 times as thick as T55 to handle more torque. If you put a T55 into a TP55 head of a bolt, it would feel loose w/play and might strip or break with applied torque. The bits are almost always etched with their sizes.

Some people with knowledge might chime in here, I think the TP55 bolts are used to secure the main HV battery panel.

Yes, it is in fact a TP55, not a T55. A TP55 is included so no need to buy one. I didn’t know that until I opened my hardware bag. A T55 works just fine, but a TP55 will induce less wear on the bolt and less likely to slip as windblow indicated.

The top is a T55, the bottom is a TP55 (included).

It is completely ok to wait until you receive the package, see what you need, and then buy it at HF/HD/Lowe's. There is no rule that says you have to have everything you need when the package arrives. That is all.

Zpowell, awesome! Nice work and thanks for sharing - glad your little one can get in now!

Gang, WE INCLUDE the TP55 bit (works in a 7/16" socket), and a T20 bit for the plastics.

FYI, there are NO T55 bolts, that's just miss-information from someone who didn't know what a TP55 was :)
