The elusive electric land eel, here seen emerging from its protective lair, for its nightly granola feeding.

(2.62mi/kWh from the coast south of SF up to Leggett, FYI)

I swear my 1.9 efficiency MUST be a battery issue what the actual fuck

That stretch of 1 is -slow-, but it’s also hilly as hell and very very twisty. Average speed for the first few hundred miles was under 40mph.

This is a screen grab from the house up to the charger in Fortuna, CA. It was about 316 miles but forgot to reset the trip meter until about 4 miles from home.

Efficiency on the way back down 101 was about 2.1 overall, with speeds 65+ and a headwind and rain from the storm. Speed really clobbers range in this truck.

What’s great - I know if I keep the speeds modest, and on the flats, I can easily see 300 miles between charges. This matters a lot for the planned trips out to the Southwest this summer.

I had less than an inch on either side with the mirrors folded. It was in low and I probably had 3” overhead, but really happy I didn’t have the racks up top.

I wouldn’t open a service ticket. All the R1 vehicles will get this efficiency if they did what OP did. Average speed under 40MPH. Plus I bet temps were 50s.

I agree, more about how it is driven. My wife gets 290-300 watts per mile driving our Model S, I usually get 320-330 unless I‘m baby it.

I baby my pedal and temps in LA are fine. I drove a loaner truck with AT’s and got better efficiency driving my daily routine. It has to be a battery issue or some type of other drain happening…

Was hoping you’d drive thru the tree!
probably better efficiency since most of those roads aren’t freeway speeds

Tire pressure? Alignment? Turned off the hidden Rivian bitcoin mining?

I average like 1.2 here in the winter with the temps and my driving. But I don't have to fill it up so I give 0 Ducks about efficiency. Road trips are different though.

If it was a battery issue, your truck would be on fire. That's a lot of extra energy being dumped to no-where. I can get nearly 3 mi/kWh in conserve on my slow short commute in the winter time if the wind is at my back, and traffic is such that I'm driving much slower and forced to accelerate at a snails pace, but typically it's more like <1.5 if I'm able to drive like I stole it.
