That's not really name calling my guy. Saying that you'd be acting hypocritically isn't insulting your character it's pointing out a hypocritical action.

I am saying, in medicine, we let people know what the actual timelines will be
just as Rivian should. as they are aware of the delays, tell people the truth
their stock is being punished because they set expectations they did not meet
Are you comparing life and death cancer medication to purchasing a $90,000 adventure toy?

I provided you with an option that could get you an R1S within a week. If it really bothered you that much you'd have one by now. I think you're just here to complain

No one has told you how to spend your money. Several have suggested you cancel so we don't have to read anymore of your whining.

It's a win/ win. You win because you don't have to deal with a terrible company that won't do something they never promised you, and we win because you will move on to another car brand's forum to complain about the promises that company didn't make you.

Perfect. So you won't see me saying once again that Rivian didn't promise you any of the things you claim, especially a specific place in line and you should cancel your order because they are terrible and only a hypocrite would buy a vehicle from a company they hate this much. ?

i pre-ordered 3/1/2021. got pushed back twice already. Current delivery date is July-September. i mentioned to Rivian that I need another car ASAP. My daughter requires a car, and I wanted to give her my Accord. I can't do that without another vehicle to drive.
I told emailed them many times letting them know that I am flexible on color and options, but it took 3 emails to even get a response. And the response was a form letter. Not sure if they even read my emails. I even offered to pick up at the factory.
I showed them links from this forum, about people in Dallas who ordered after me, who already have their R1S. This is because they 1st told me, that I am being pushed back as I am not near a service center. (there is one 5 miles from my house).
I even had to reach out over 5 times before I got a call back about a demo drive. The demo drive (in Dallas), was very short. R1S drove great, and looked to be well put together. Seems like an amazing vehicle.
Doing my best to wait, even got some of my friends to put down deposits for R1Ss. Throughout the whole process, I have not felt that I was valued as a customer. I don't feel the communications have been timely, honest or forthright.
Hopefully they get through these growing pains. Poor customer service can certainly ruin even the best product experience.
You don't feel valued as a customer. Duh. First they eliminate the lower cost option. Then they raised the price. When they saw this would actually cost them money in the long range they sort of went back on that. No one values you except your mother and she may be jiving too.

To be clear, I'm making a joke about an earlier thread that got shut down because it went south.

I will say, however, catching up on the last ten? pages of this thread while gauging my own reaction to each post has been interesting. I just the other day thought about how we are approaching another re-roll of the estimated delivery dates and the forum is going to be hot as we approach the end of the month.

I'm trying to be honest and aware of my own biases and any change in tone that happened after I got my R1S. Also, I'm trying to remain cognizant of the fact that my R1S came within two weeks of me calling my guide and telling them that we were open to different colors. I'd like to think that I remained lenient with Rivian concerning my anger, but it was frustrating and we had reached, if not a breaking point, a threshold of pain point.

We should all be aware that there's going to be some hurt feelings in the next couple of weeks. Things will be typed in anger. Drinks will be drunk. More things will be typed. I hope I can respond with empathy in those situations and to point out to people that, barring hard and fast "I have a child in lacrosse and I need a car noooowwwww! (that's for you @Donald Stanfield ), the consensus I pick up on is that they are worth the wait. Again, I am not a good person; my motive is the stock price.

@DallasRivianR1S I hope you get your vehicle soon; I really do. There is nothing on the market like it. If you need to make other choices, I hope you are happy with those. In the meantime, go do something productive like curing cancer or the like.

this is mostly a great forum
a few trolls without people skills, but mostly great people that can engage in open dialogue, with empathy and without childish name -calling. I learned its best to block the trolls, as there are some who continuously try to needle you (for a few, judging by quantity of their posts, it seems like this is their full time job, quite a sad existence really)
you make some great points Tango, hope to get my R1S soon (or something else if they delay again). and I hope the stock price improves and the company succeeds. we still make world class products in the US, that are the envy of the world.
pointing out things Rivian can do different does not mean that someone is anti-Rivian
