I’m planning to configure my Rivian the way I want it and take the risk the IRS ultimately doesn’t accept the 2022 binding purchase agreement when I amend my 2022 return after my R1S is delivered. The issue with the binding contract is if the IRS ever challenges it. If that is the case, we would be better off being below $80,000 and taking the tax rebate in the year it was actually earned not the August 15 binding contract period. Anyone have any thoughts on that subject?
