Thanks for posting! Interestingly it looks like prices for the Launch Edition have gone up. They used to be $75.5K and included the free wheel upgrades and it looks like they now start at $77K

Wheel upgrades are still included, I think those just all have various add-ons (paint, underbody shield, FE interior, and/or compact spare).

This one is $75,500 & has the wheel upgrade to the 22" brights (normally $1,800) included for free:

Here's another one with the 20" A/T upgrade also included for free, but has the $2,000 underbody shield tacked on to get it to the $75.5k price mentioned above:

Interestingly, the underbody shield is $300 cheaper on the Adventures in the shop that are also configured with A/Ts & full size spare ($1700 for underbody shield on those vs $2000 on Launch and other configs). Suspect that's a trickle down from the "All-Terrain Upgrade" package they recently started offering for post-price increase orders & basically nets the spare for $150 if someone was already planning on buying underbody at the normal $2k price:

It looks like everything that has been put into the shop this week includes all terrain wheels, underbody shield and compact spare making all of them over $80k (no GW or LAS). I hope this isn’t the new norm for anyone who want AT wheels.

Just got access this morning (April 2021 preorder). Southeast and no GW available.

I'm pretty sold on just waiting it out for GW at this point, but going to shop around and see if I can find another option that checks all my other boxes (20" AT regular or bright and OC interior).
Well... this escalated quickly.

After compulsively looking at the available options and refreshing all morning, just checked again about 30 minutes ago after wrapping a meeting and found almost my exact configuration staring at me so locked it in immediately (I'm talking about 15 seconds after the page loaded -- had to go back to my account page to make sure I didn't miss anything or make a mistake with how quickly I locked it).

Ended up with LE, GW, OC, & standard 20" AT for $75.5k (added charger to bring it to $76k flat before taxes & fees) & VIN shows it's a 2023 build. I had 20" brights configured vs. the 20" standards (low gloss) on the one I just locked and honestly didn't have a strong preference between those two options anyways so this is perfect.

Thus ends my very brief shop experience (about 7 hours from access to locking) and honestly couldn't be happier.

Congrats! Just curious how long it took from when your guide said you would get access to the shop to actually getting access to the shop? I finally got the go ahead and they said they would put in a request to get my shop access but that it would take a few days.

It took me about 8 days until I got access to the shop after the "request was submitted".

Thanks, I appreciate it. Oddly enough, I didn't get a guide assigned until after locking the shop configuration and I also didn't get an email telling me I had shop access (I check daily and it was just there as an option when I logged into my account today).

FWIW, I did a First Drive on 4/1 and told them during that I was flexible and not planning to finance (though that may change with multiple people reporting that USSFCU is giving sub 4% rates on auto loans recently -- free money for anyone who can get that rate) and she said she was going to add notes to my account & that it would potentially help since Rivian wants to move units as quickly as possible so I strongly suspect that helped my timeline.

April 2022 R1S Adventure preorder. Just snagged a 2022 R1S LE from the shop. 1400 VIN. Wonder why such a low vin. Hopefully no prior issues
hey Christopher,
Congratulations on your R1S.
I have a March 2022 pre order reservation i.e post price hike. Still waiting for access to R1 shop.

quick question.
What kind of prices did you see in the R1 shop? Pre price hike or post?
also, where are you based?
Thanks
-Nik

Thank you! I'm in south Florida. The prices being displayed in the shop were the same pricing that you would see inside the configurator. For example my config that I selected from the shop was $90k base, $1750 for paint, and $3500 for 22" dark wheels. Same price as my preorder.

Unfortunately you don't get to see the VIN or model year before making a selection. I believe the vehicle I selected has been sitting at my local service center because I saw the same config there a few weeks ago unmatched to an owner.

The only difference between my reservation and actual selection from the shop is that I picked out a launch edition whereas my preorder was an adventure. It's a low vin 22 year, so maybe it has the 12v in the frunk and the Meridian sound, but would have preferred a 23 over that.

I’m right at ~90 miles (north) of the ATL service center that’s over in Buckhead.

Also, while I think your comments / frustration with the rollout and delivery timing / communication (much of which I share since it still doesn't make a ton of sense how they're prioritizing right now) were made generally, I just wanted to clarify that I was an April 2021 reservation (still a few months after yours, but definitely not 2022).

There’s someone a few pages back who’s a 2019 reservation and still somehow hasn’t been given access which is insane to me (even if that’s strictly location based/too far from a service center, they owe it to someone holding on for 4 years to at least communicate what’s going on).
