I've been going to Hidden Falls as long as it's been open, dating back 10+ yrs. My 2007 Tacoma OR and 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro did awesome out there. I used to camp/wheel there multiple times a year.

I finally got to take my R1T out to HF a couple of weekends ago to get familiar with the offroad UI, etc. It did exceptionally well. Very impressed. I'm on the 20" ATs and I went through the easier trails around the park for a few hours. I was by myself so didn't attempt anything I'd need a spotter for, like the North Peak trail for example, which isn't super tough but very rutted out.

I didn't even air down to see how it rode and was able to make it up to the tower without issue. Super comfortable ride. I will air down to 25psi next time I camp out there for a few days. So much fun, can't wait to go back!

Few pics from my outing:

Has anyone taken their R1 to Bridgeport OHV (DFW) or Hidden Falls Parks (Austin)? How did it do?
I’ve been wanting to go out to Bridgeport OHV but haven’t had the chance yet. Hopefully I’ll make it in the next few weeks. If I do, ill check back in.

We had 3 R1Ts from the Rivian Adventure group of North Texas head out to Bridgeport for the Softroaders Texas spring meetup. It was a lot of fun! We were all beginners and did the easy trails mostly and some moderate ones, but the trucks handled beautifully. One of the guys with us said it felt like cheating.

We're planning on potentially doing another meetup out there on July 4th weekend.

I took it to Hidden Falls Adventure park this memorial weekend. Handled all the 2 diamond trail easily. Then I tried to do the north pole trail - 3 diamond but didn't finish.

This thing is very capable without too much effort. BUT there is a limit. I took a drop too hard and hit the lower front bumper and the truck threw all sorts of error and limited power. I thought I broke something, but nothing upon visual inspection. Some plastics parts and wheels got scratched.

Then I tried to finish with all sorts of warning light on and with limited power it couldn't climb any hills anymore and I panicked being stuck on the trail. Then I though of a hard reset and it cleared all the lights. Made it run normal again and I called it done and started heading out. I didn't want to break anything further.

Some final thoughts. This thing needs bigger tires to be even more capable. The OEM tires looks beat up when I inspected it at home. Its must be upgraded. When it is at the highest setting, it doesn't flex so its like a giant straight plank and does not have enough articulation. Its weight is also very evident, you can see the deep tracks it makes on the trail compared to other rigs.
