I’m in that camp for my R1S. Taking delivery tomorrow at $75.5k (LE, GW, OC, 20” AT). 2021 order with BPA signed before August 2022 deadline. Extended 2022 return to claim on initial filing (filing next week). If that for some reason gets challenged and ultimately denied (shouldn’t in my state) on 2022 return, I’ll still be safely within statute of limitations to amend 2023 and claim the half credit. Full credit at best, risk mitigation & half credit at worst.
Smart, smart, smart......and u guessed it: Smart.

Thank you! I
Yes, I am a pre March 22 order, no, I missed the BPA cut off in August, which I really kicked myself for failing to do so (Missed the date by accident). No, if your BPA will actually work in your state, there shouldn't be any restrictions regarding price point. I would check with your CPA to verify about the BPA as I understand state laws could make a difference on that too.
Thank you! I will check our state laws, but we’re not expecting a state deduction. I find all of this to be pretty unclear. Hope you find the perfect R1S!

lol. Sometimes having a law degree and a tax degree pay off, even when you’re just a lowly builder like I am:CWL:

Potentially interesting tidbit with a shop, we just snagged a launch edition that popped up on the shop and it's a pretty earlier 2022 VIN.

Same thing happened to me. What's your VIN range? We're 15xx and picking up in Normal in two weeks

Really happy with my 22s.
Yeah, I think my wife will be too. I have ATs on my truck, so we were going for range and were able to snag a launch edition with these. Figured they're a range improvement over the 20s and a bit more fun (and replaceable) than the 21s.
What VIN range did you get?
1100ish...

How do you feel about it being a ‘22? I suppose it may have the 12V in the front trunk and front row, probably Meridian. Sound system too. Any knowledge why it showed up in the shop so late?

Congratulations. How did you arrange to pick it up in Normal? I would love to do that. Are they unable to deliver to your state? I understand a tour of the facility is worth it. Are you feeling good about getting a ‘22 even though it will take a depreciation hit since not an ‘23? Could have features that they’ve since deleted which may be a huge plus.

My spouse is a bit conflicted. No clue yet.
