We're somewhere between 20 and 50 days from when initial deliveries are to have started. My hope is slowly fading as each day passes without additional detailed information on outstanding questions, nor any contact from Rivian Guides. It just seems to me like the logistics of finalizing an order, producing the vehicle, and shipping/delivering the vehicle to the customer is going to take longer than the time they have left.

I'm curious who here still thinks that Rivian is going to hit their June delivery date. My fingers are still crossed, but my gut tells me we've passed the time in which it's likely at all to happen.

What is your gut telling you?

I believe deliveries will begin in June as stated by Rivian. If RJ is posting pics of camping with his family in May and then deliveries are delayed... that's a problem in my book.

They may deliver few (may be 10) to keep June delivery promise.

I think they'll "check the box" with a small initial batch, maybe going to employees or other more forgiving parties while they iterate on the process, slowly ramping into July and beyond. They seem pretty committed to stick to their word here.

Order fulfillment is actually much quicker than most seem to think once a car is available and in your area. Production and shipping logistics will be the limiting factor on Rivians delivered in June. My guess is they deliver between 100-200 cars in the first month.

My brother bought a car in less than 24 hours from a dealer nearby. They delivered it to his house after he signed online paperwork, which was quick and easy. For some buyers, this may take a month, but for most, filling in the forms after a conversation with your guide could be quick. Only Rivian knows exactly how they want that process to go, but it doesn't have to be drawn out.

I still have hope, with the Launch Edition it already limits configurations, and there are only 3 interior options, Forest Edge likely the rarest option and this likely limits the exterior color selection. I don’t think the $5k camp stove slide out will be a popular add on either and this may be able to be added after production. so it comes down to exterior color and the wheels which can be changed quickly if needed after production to fulfill a build.

Jeff Bezos got his, so I'm sure we are just as important, so check your driveway often!

I love the optimism in this group! 3 to 1 that they hit the June goal. I hope you're right!!!

If they are planning an IPO I am sure hitting the June and August dates are top priority. They would have already announced the delay by now. The message it sends making a delay announcement later than this is way more detrimental then if it is announced early.

There may not be a large number of deliveries but I would be staggered if they did not hit the June/August dates at this point.

I am thinking they will deliver in June but not sure how many. 50-100 R1T LEs…maybe. It likely won’t be June 1st, just as Guides didn’t contact anyone one May 1st. Like others have said, if they were going to miss their timelines there likely would of been communication somewhere by now. I think hiring will be the biggest hold up but once they are staffed up things will start moving at a Normal pace.

It may not be many, but I think they will definitely start putting customers in R1T’s in June.

I agree, and it's also easy to see how those first 50-100 could all be sent to "not the average" customer. Investors, employees, reviewers, celebrities ... that's probably why the rest of us chumps haven't heard anything yet.

Who else drives themselves near crazy thinking about other ways to spend roughly $80k on other vehicle(s) ...... only to realize nothing else will do. I keep myself in check by imagining the first Rivian that I spot on the road and the sickening feeling in my gut knowing that I should have waited for it - no matter how nice a vehicle I'm sitting in any sooner.

Having made an incorrect statement earlier today, I want to be careful about this, but didn't we hear that they were finishing about one per day, as of a few weeks ago? I'd think they wouldn't be so finicky about putting them together for crash-testing. If they continue even at that pace until the production line starts up soon, they'll have mine and a few others ready for us to pick up in Normal in early June.

As Alexander Pope said a couple of centuries back, "Hope springs eternal in the human breast".
