Still charging or just idle? If idling you could just remove the J1772 and plug your's in. I don't think the plug stays locked in after charging is completed. I could be wrong but that's my experience home charging.

Had fun mountain biking there a few years back. I bet the skiing’s pretty good.

Where did you travel to snowshoe from? We are in Northern VA and getting the R1T delivered sometime soon whenever they call me. Will be coming to snowshoe 2x this summer for MTB but nervous about the lack of chargers getting there. Any issues if you came from this area?

I haven't been down there myself, but I see a 1/2 dozen or so level 2 chargers in the resort area. I went to Masennutten last weekend and just for fun I stopped at the Woodstock EA chargers and they were working very well. I know there are some in Staunton.

I think the approach is to top off in the Harrisonburg area before heading west. It's about 100 miles from there so if you topped off near 100% it would be enough for you to get there and back plus 100 miles or so of local driving (probably a little less in winter). You could also top off at some of the level two chargers.

Another option is to bring a dryer extension cord and adapter to plug into a dryer outlet at a rental. This is standard kit for us with renting AirBnBs as there is almost always a dryer and 24 amps will get you about 11 miles an hour.

I'm surprised with the draw from NoVA that the Vail and Aspen branded resorts have they aren't trying to cut some exclusivity deal with EA or someone else for fast chargers, especially snow shoe since it is in the middle of nowhere and most of the rentals are condos and not stand alone houses. I know West VA is really resisting EV chargers, but probably leaving some money on the table.

We left from Rockville , Md and drove to Staunton , Va. charged up and grabbed lunch there, then headed over the mountains. There are a few charging stations at snowshoe, but the main ones are always taken. There’s a blink station a mile past the main lodge but the secure is bad, so make sure you get a blink card before you go.

Once the RAN in Front Royal is open we can just top off before heading west on 48 from Strasburg. Going all the way down to Staunton is too much to add. Honestly, from the Fairfax area i should theoretically be able to make it from 100% to Snowshoe in the summer. Not completely confident in that with the winter hit, but it’s only 205 miles. Elevation gain of around 4000’ give or take.

On a recent trip to Massanutten I stopped at the Woodstock EA charger just to try it out (had never DC charged before) and it worked well. Location was "ok" in the walmart parking lot. You could go to the Front Royal RAN, then just top off at Woodstock to leave no doubt while you got a Starbucks or Jersey mikes and that should leave no doubt.

Last summer I drove to Bryce for some mountain biking and had problems charging at the EA charger at the Walmart in Woodstock, VA on I-81 and at the EA charger at the Walmart in Haymarket in 66. I started to worry that I wasn't going to be able to make it home but the EVGo in Centreville was functional, if not slow.
