And I am blaming your great review for them moving the cup holders to the middle ? I can understand their reasoning but now the design won't work for me. And by saying me, I really mean my wife and her purse.
That's where my wife's purse sits too.

Yeah that was my fault. It really doesn't work well at the end though with the top cupholders. I think it would still fit a decent sized purse. I'll post another review as my final version is on the way. My wife will lend her purse to the cause I'm sure.

I see these are now on Amazon! Is that the final version that allows full use of the OEM cup holders at the same time?

Disappointed in the late July shipping time estimate, but I got one ordered.

I got one as well, ended ordering the all black one. I wish there was the option to buy the pads separate so I can switch. I wanted to get the yellow but I am scared it might call too much the attention.

I got mine the other day. It's been a really busy week for me but I should have some time this weekend to get more pictures together and post another review for you all.

Any updates or reviews of the final version from anyone that has received it already? Still seeing late July for shipping.

Yes I have the final
As promised here is my review of the prototype with a few pictures to hopefully show everyone how this works.

In this first picture you can see my Yeti vacuum bottle and a 32oz Nalgene bottle. The yeti is taller and fits with a little slack the 32" Nalgene is a perfect fit. Even with the little bit of slack on the yeti and my bottle fairly empty I didn't notice any significant rattling while driving or any tipping issues my rating for fitting water bottles is 10/10

IMG_1401.webp

The Nalgene bottle fits perfectly underneath the cup holder pop out but this would render that side unusable for putting something in that holder. The Yeti bottle hits the pop out drink holder, but it still comes out enough to be usable. SO you can rock drinks up top AND the yeti but not drinks up top and the Nalgene, at least no drinks over the Nalgene.

Overall fit and finish durability wise is also 10/10. This thing is going to last quite a while of daily drink carting around no problem. Now for the downsides.

IMG_1402.webp

The camp speaker cannot come out with the tray in place. Personally I couldn't care less about this and for how often the speaker will be used I won't even notice. Plus with how rigid the tray is popping it out would be super easy. The whole tray fits into place perfectly so taking it in and out would be really easy.

You can see by these images that the center dividers and the outer edges are not as deep as the actual rivian tray. If the dividers and the outside edges were a little taller this divider would be perfect. The front compartment is just about perfect for my wife's purse, and it didn't tip over until I was a little heavy on the accelerator, which happens pretty frequently in my R1. A little deeper compartments would solve that issue.

Overall I will still probably buy one in black when they come out, and I would definitely buy one if the dividers and compartments were a little deeper. I'm sure you guys can see the gear guard plush tag in there, that's because that's the space Gary used to ride in. Don't worry about him though, he's okay and he found another spot he's happy with.

I linked to my original review of the prototype to keep things easy. The changes are as follows from the prototype
  1. Cupholders have moved to the center of the tray
  2. There are now insertable arms that go into the center of the cupholder
  3. Cupholders now have a slot for mugs instead of two solid round holders.
  4. The tray dividers are now deeper.
The location of the cupholders is better in the center vs the prototype in my review. You can use the deployable cupholders now with ease in addition to the new ones in the center console. The only problem would be if you had something in the deployable cupholders up top you would need to move around it to access your lower bottle. This isn't at all a big issue and can be easily done while driving.

The insertable arms are good for smaller bottles that would rattle around quite a bit otherwise. I really like the fact that they aren't automatically in the cupholder area but instead provided as an accessory. This allows you to decide whether you want it or not. The Yeti bottle, which is a 26oz vacuum bottle, just barely fits in the holder with the arms inserted. Tightly enough that you run the risk of lifting the whole tray out to get your bottle out.

Personally I took the arms back out of the one on my side and I left them in on the passenger side for my wife as she uses a non insulated water bottle that's a smaller diameter. I could live without the arms all together because bottles small enough to make use of them could easily be used in the cup holders that already come with the Rivian but again it's not a required feature and some people might feel differently. It was nice they were included.

If you look at the original prototype above you'll see that the cup holders are perfectly round and the updated design is the two holders are 3/4 circles but are kind of molded together so the space between them both is open. This allows for larger mugs with handles to be used easily and most cupholders do not account for this which is a nice feature. So if you have one of those vacuum water bottles with a handle it will fit pretty nicely assuming the diameter is no more than a standard Nalgene bottle.

The dividers are deeper as well between compartments. The area where my wife's purse sits still looks roughly the same size and her purse fits there easily either with or without water bottles. The "purse spot" has become my wife's default and she has not complained nor have I noticed her purse tipping over even when I'm driving my truck as an 835HP monster which is pretty much all the time.

Overall the update from the prototype has added the functionality the original was lacking and even has a few little surprises for added bonuses like the arms that snap into the cupholder. This accessory turns a, IMO wasted, space into something pretty usable and functional for the truck. For the price point I would absolutely say it is worth it and I can give you all a recommendation to buy it.

Thanks for the detailed update. Glad to see you're positive on the final version. Order placed - now I just hope it gets here in time for our 1200 mile road trip later next week!

So the Yeti 26 bottle oz fits with the arms in. Will it fit the next size up Yeti Rambler (36 oz) without the arms inserted? I wish they would answer the post asking for the diameter. Their Amazon description mentions 32 oz tumblers. Yeti doesn't make a 32 oz Tumbler or Rambler.

I couldn’t tell you definitively because I don’t have one to test but it fits a 32 oz Nalgene pretty tightly so if you can compare those diameters you’ll be able to get an answer
