Hi all,
So after 1449 days, I finally got my R1S, and I'm a happy camper (despite having to do a full reset at the SC before driving away!) But here's my pet peeve, which I'm posting just for the lols, as I don't think I've seen it described before. The driver's mirror mount is too shiny, and any time I get reflections from buildings, trees or the like, I get a momentary feeling that someone's overtaking me. Is anyone else distracted by these reflections, or is it just me? (I think I already know the answer..... :) )

I have it as well, and it does suck. Just wait until we get our alloted 13 days of sun here in the PNW and you have that reflection off of the hood... Damn near impossible to see or drive...

Same here ... same reaction when it happens. Wish I’d driven mine for a few days before having full XPEL done, else I would have had them use XPEL Stealth or XPEL matte black PPF on this sections. (I’ll still have that done at some point, just wish I’d known when already doing it from delivery)

I definitely experience the same issue in my R1S.

It's almost always sunny here and I have not noticed this. But I do wear polarized sunglasses which reduce glare.

Got ours this week and it's the first thing I noticed. Not a big issue but would be nice to fix.

The silver accents on the dash will burn a hole in your frontal lobes too when the angle is right.

Does anyone know where i can buy ~2 sq ft of matte PPE, for a quick DIY wrap of the mounts?

I'm hoping someone will release pre-cut PPF for that area. I noticed it right away too.

I've seen the reflections too but I didn't place where they were coming from.

Fix: Matte PPF.

Wait until you notice the reflection of the lower dash panel trim on the driver window when looking at that rearview mirror. When the sun is in the right (wrong?) position, that panel trim obstructs the lower part of the mirror.

Don't complain about it to your wife, because she will just roll her eyes....

Fix: Gaffer's (cloth) tape or sticky-back soft velcro.
