Just curios what the best configuration is for the R1S to get the longest range. (Not with Max Pack)

After getting my R1T my wife is so jealous and is dying to get an R1S. Lucky for her I knew she would want one, so I put in a reservation for her R1S at the same time I reserved my truck.

She is having a tough time deciding on the configuration, but after weighing all the options she decided she just wants the most range.

Wonder what the most anyone has ever gotten on a single charge?

Leave the aero caps on the 21" wheels.

Don't get the underbody shielding (which is now part of the all-terrain upgrade).

I don't think there's a lot else you can do.

Max 21” Dual with aero caps at reasonable speeds will approach 400 miles/charge.

Drop Max and you’re still at maximum distance.

Of course it’ll depend on the weather, the ambient temperature, your regen setting, and your driving style as well.

@Byulasfjazz also tell her not to go over 40mph and stay in lowest ride hide with stiff setting. Oh and only drive when it's 70°F and a tailwind. Should easily get 500 miles.

Someone mentioned somewhere that it may be more aerodynamic with the underbody shield, I believe it is available as an option or at least it was. Another reason to get the shield.

400miles for the dual based on what data? It states 350 on website, 50 extra miles is a lot. What is a reasonable speed?
No chance another configuration will match the most efficient max, when it finally comes out. There is no substitute for Kw.

21" wheels/tires incl. (however costly to replace) could buy 22" take offs later or choose your own
Dual M - 340miles
Quad M - 321 miles + 30 in conserve (quad has longer warranty)

Longest range primarily under what driving conditions?

I have found that I can exceed the projected range on flatter terrain at speed limit (62mph & under)

Didn’t someone post that they put all season on the 20s and get better range than the 21s?

Last I heard people were getting very close to 350 on 21” wheels in conserve already. I might be remembering wrong, but that’s what I recall.

You left out terrain. That has a huge impact on driving range. Texas vs Colorado Rockies vs hills and mountains of Pennsylvania? I get 3+ mi/kw going to work, I get 1.5 mi/kw coming home. 700 foot absolute elevation change, probably 2000+ foot climbs cumulative over several hills on the drive. It seems regen recovers about 50% - 70% of what was burned in the climbs.

Mount an electric fan on the trailer hitch, plug it into the 120v inverter and create your own tailwind! ?

No no no no. Please read all these forums. Max range is with 20 inch wheels with All season tires. There is so much data on this.

I have the Launch edition on AT 275/65R20 and I get a max 304 miles in the conserve mode which is the highest mileage for any mode. Just to give you a live experience.
