interesting project but where is the IRB approval and/or exception?

Typically, when there is minimal risk involved and the responses are anonymous with no way to link an individual to a record, an IRB would not require informed consent.

However, to conduct human subjects research (HSR) - and surveys are considered HSR - our friend @Mattjw or whoever is leading his MBA course, would have had to submit an IRB application and obtain IRB approval. GIven the nature of the research it would likely have been exempt from full review.

Good evening, my name is Matthew Wieland, and I am a MBA candidate at Saint Mary's College of California, I am currently working on a group project that revolves around Rivian for a marketing research class, and we were wondering if anyone in this forum has already either received thier vehicle or has one order would like to respond to our survey. Nice survey. When doing statistics it’s good to never have an age category that’s unbounded, like 65+. It’ll mess with your ability to parse data. Better to say 65-75, 85-100, 100-110, even if you think some are zero. Good luck!

In CA, anything is possible. If someone told me they saw a helicopter land on the bed of an R1T traveling on the 405, I wouldn’t flinch.

Responded as well. As mentioned above, N/A responses should be added to a few of the questions (particularly the next to last question about the control arm recall, as that question only relates to owners of vehicles impacted by that recall so I just arbitrarily put "10" since my vehicle was not impacted but the question was still mandatory).
