How mechanically inclined are you? Some people have had brake problems with the connectors in the the calipers coming undone. One recently had a misguided wire that rubbed against their rim

First I don't need a tow because I am at home. Secondly I am on about a half inch drop from my cement driveway to gravel. That would just be stooopid if this off roading truck can't handle being parked on a half inch incline.

Thanks for asking. I wouldn't call myself super inclined but usually I can do some stuff but just had a knee replacement so can't really do much. Thanks though.

Are you certain about this?

I watched the video posted not too long ago about 'what happens when you drive a Rivian to 0%" and that guy was told that the SOS button is for "EMERGENCIES" only (like the type that require first responders--which is also within the text of what you show here).

IE: If you need police/fire/ambulance because you were in an accident or were suffering a medical emergency.

I do not believe you're supposed to use the SOS button for technical service--I think you just call Rivian (like thru the Rivian app).

Honestly, I don't care if "you are supposed to or not". This is not a government 911 service. It is a call center service Rivian contracts at MY expense as part of my purchase. It says they will route the call to the appropriate service.

To be clear: it's NOT a RIVIAN call center. It's a national call center--which is exactly what was the issue when these guys called. The operator on the other end's job is to notify emergency services and didn't have a direct line to Rivian. They got bounced around a few times.

So, you can use it, but you're just going to put yourself into a more difficult situation. Rivian never advertised the SOS button as a "RIVIAN Services" button.

Have you used it personally? I have not. I'd really only consider using it if I was somewhere my cell phone didn't work if it was an actual non-emergency and my vehicle was stranded. IMO you're probably just going to end up wasting your time getting bounced around until you get somewhere that can actually help you, like Rivian Service, so why not just call them the first time?

I have not used it yet, but I will use it if I need to and find out for myself. I paid for it so I want try it and see what happens.

Why? It wastes your time and isn't going yo help you. Your taxes pay for 911 too but there's no need to use that service when you need directions or a tow.

Look, I won't tell you what to do, because I'm not your mother.
And to be absolutely fair, I do agree that if I'd otherwise be stranded and my low power cell can't complete a call, then the SOS button is probably a fair approach.

HOWEVER, I'd also argue that if that call center is predominantly established to handle emergencies, and everyone starts using it for non-emergencies, you could cause someone who has an actual emergency from getting the help they need in a timely manner. If YOUR MONEY paid RIVIAN to establish an EMERGENCY CALL CENTER service, then that's what you should use it for.

I see your 'occupation' is listed as 'Engineer.' As such, I think you of all people probably want your users to RTFM and interpret your use-case as intended and not start taking liberties with they think they should be able do with your product. But that's just like my opinion, man :)
