Happened to me once. Driving on highway and audio I was listening to over bluetooth from my phone started breaking up and then went completely out and both screens rebooted fully to logo restart.
Driving did not seem to be affected, but I was scared that it was bricking up right in the middle of highway speed traffic and I couldn't get to the right shoulder in time if it was going to lock up driving. I eventually was able to pull over and restart. Service could not find anything.
Hasn't happened again, but once I was parked and the audio started breaking up again and I could not use the liftgate open button from the display screen, had to go around to the back and manually open it.

I have had this happen to me many times as of late. I have even gotten to the point that I can tell its going to happen before it even does.

Once was a scary event thou. I had ADAS fully engaged, and was approaching a long mild sweeping right hand curve on the interstate, with a exit ahead, with a mild left hand sweep.

I needed to go with the interstate, and with the sweeping right hand curve. It went straight. Not straight with the exit with the mild left hand sweep.. I mean it went straight. I had to forcibly turn the steering wheel to the right to avoid what was about to happen.

So I have learned that if it starts acting up, to disable the ADAS, and take control until it finishes its reboot.

How I can tell its about to screw up, I am always listening to a bluetooth stream from my phone. Either YouTube, or Amazon Music, or something to that effect. The stream will just stop playing, then it will start playing with a faster speed (like at 10x speed), or it will not return to playing at all, even thou my phone, and the mini-player screen on the center stack indicates that its still playing. I also cant press any buttons on the screen (HVAC, Seat Controls, etc).

Then at some random point, the screens shut off, and the system reboots, and the audio I was listening to thru the truck will start playing thru the phone, or my headset if its connected.

I have not reported it to Rivian, as I was planning on trading it in when this all started a few months ago for me. Plans changed, and I am keeping the Rivian for now, so I need to get it reported in, along with my axles making the knocking noises.

To the OP @Collyay - There are Rivian loyalist here, that no matter the problem, its always the owners fault, and Rivian can do no wrong. I just put them on ignore, and carry on. There are 2 of them in this thread, just ignore them. Dont even feed into them, its just not worth it.

This happens to me roughly once a month or about once every 1250 miles. First few times is jarring but I've gotten used to it by now. @portdirect Is this frequency normal?

I’m in the same boat with the ads reboots. Hopefully it’ll be fixed with next update. Otherwise calling Rivian.
