Have we confirmed the battery packs for both vehicles are identical? Does anyone have the old RIDE data for both to show battery capacity? Has Rivian published anywhere the actual capacity for both?As said before in this forum. The T is more aerodynamic than the S. Why else would it get 347 in conserve mode versus the 328 of the S on 21’s with the same battery back? So for my S to have better mi/kWh than my T has merit. Unless you or anyone else has both vehicles on different wheels, this is the best data so far. I’m working on finding someone with 21’s on an S for a range test.
Even if you have 2 R1S's on different wheels, you can't compare the two. A real comparison requires the exact same vehicle with wheels changed out on the same exact route. There are plenty of examples here of R1Ts with 21s in more favorable environments (70s dry SoCal spring) getting the same or worse efficiency as my truck in wet PNW winter on 20 ATs. You might think your 4-5 mile route delta doesn't matter, but it does, it throws off your average from the initial power consumption to warm up the pack.
Controls matter, you have to remove as many variables as possible to get an accurate view.
