MAX PACK Dual Motor Performance is delivering!

I prefer having shop access up until the VIN is confirmed.

As do I; it just seems that would make it more difficult for them to guesstimate how many Max Packs (or whatevers) they should build.

With Yellow going away soon, I've put in another R1T order and have been watching the shop for Max pack options since being invited a couple of weeks back. I have seen a couple of yellow models with the new motors, but large pack only so far. My configurator did not show the option for Max pack (in any color), and I haven't seen any yet in other colors either. I'm in LA.

Dual Motor went from 600 HP to 533
Performance went from 700 HP to 665

The value of the vehicle just keeps decreasing and the price just keeps going up

Long awaited option of Max pack battery is available for R1S is finally available but Is it worth $6,500 for 60 extra miles (must downgrade to Performance Dual-motor AWD option, which gives $500 back)? I would like to hear everybody's opinion on this. Thanks for sharing your opinions in advance.

So from Quad Motor Large to Dual Performance Max, you save $500, get 170 less horsepower, less drive modes, lose the yellow accents, lower mileage warranty, higher weight, BUT you get 60 more miles of Range in Conserve mode? No, I'd say it's not worth it.

I have the 20" AT Quad Large and have no issues planning out road trip stops. I also only charge at home once a week due to my short commute. I would only consider a Max if you need the extra range for daily use.

Dual warranty is shorter (vs quad) (https://rivian.com/support/article/what-is-the-warranty-coverage-on-a-new-rivian)
- Bumper-to-bumper quad: 5 yr/60,000 miles
- Bumper-to-bumper dual: 4 yr/50,000 miles
- Battery quad: 8 yr/175,000 miles
- Battery dual: 8 yr/150,000 miles (large battery pack, so not sure what max pack will be)

Its not worth it. T best case an extra 58 miles range, S best case extra 48 miles. At current prices its a $10,000 upcharge. Towing range best case half that. Real world range increase likely much less than EPA numbers.

With all that said, its a personal decision. I just hate to see folks new to Rivian go for max pack and be disappointed.

I don't see anything from Rivian indicating this is anything more than a range increase so no other benefits to going with Max pack. I am still curious to see the real numbers. I wonder if Munro will do a tear down on max pack?

Thanks for the response. I wonder why they would not equip Max battery with Quad-Motor. That could may be convince the justification for cost of the battery, with all extra drive modes and 1 yr. 10k miles warranty.
