Model Y hands down much better. Same area of mud, same access to traction-aids (wooden boards, which telsa really did not need), My M-Y is out in 5 minutes, and my R1S still stuck after 1 hour. Broken trim, broken steering wheel adjustment, broken A/C vents, inadequate A/C capacity, and a 60-day wait time for service: this vehicle continues to disappoint. When a Model Y with summer tires can out maneuver an "adventure vehicle" in mud, that is really sad.

Now we blame Rivian for gravity and poor recovery skills? The Y weighs half as much as the S.

Rivian was not going in the ruts the Model Y made. I don't blame Rivian for gravity, I do think they made a mistake making such a heavy vehicle for off road. How are my recovery skills somehow perfectly adequate for the Y but somehow disappear when I drive the R1S?

But I see where this is going. Rivian can do no wrong; all dow down and praise Rivian. If there's a problem it must be the driver. Glad I learned this on my first post.

One of the first things they teach you in an off-roading: don’t drive into mud.

I mean, love seeing your user error and blaming everyone but yourself.

Well mud has never been an issue for me and I've had my truck a year. Also is it really a surprise to you that your very first post here is you blaming Rivian for your own driving skills and the people here aren't exactly giving you a warm reception? A stock R1S just crossed the Rubicon trail but no, you're right, it off roads like shit.

My Rivian got stuck in mud, but my bicycle made it out just fine. My truck is stupid, Rivian did a terrible job. I might as well switch back to my bicycle...

So, if you park somewhere and it happens to rain and you need to relocate, what do they teach you?

Please enlighten me on what I did wrong in the R1S, and somehow did it right in the M-Y?
BTW, you are kind of an asshole.
You wait until it dries up. Or you put something sturdy underneath the entire way.

Did you even air down your tires to ~ 30psi?

If the impression is that I was blaming Rivian, that is not my intention. I was merely stating in the same conditions that the Model Y was much much easier to get out of a bad situation. I do think the problem is primarily the weight difference vs tire footprint, and yes, for mud, in this situation, it is the reason the Model Y was "better".

Do everyone here just automatically think the Rivian is superior? Is this forum really that fan-boyish?

To anyone offering genuine advice, I appreciate it. To those just flinging insults, have a nice day.
